I'm no expert on this but I have definately thought this through. I think it depends on the individual and his circumstance. It is normal for youth to be curious, admire and as a result fantasise about the same sex, especially amongst males in their teen and for some in their early twenties. Whether fantasies solidify sexual identy is really dependant on the individual. There have been studies linking homosexuality with lack of a male role model/male parent through whom a male will acquire his masculine traits/behaviour. I think fantasies accompanied with a lack of male parent/role model would probably solidify a homosexual identy but not necessarily. I think fantasies are just the natural way by which guys fill the void left by the lack of a male role model/influence. Also it is important to understand that fantasies do not necessarily mean that a male would necessarily engage in sexual relations with anther male. Male sexuality is realy complex and is probably complicated by society's ideal image of manliness. Guys don't talk about these things openly because of socities ideal definition of manliness, and they fear what others would think, but at the end of the day we all agree it is great being a guy. Lets face its awsome having a dick! So I would not worry too much about it - I think all guys go through a phase of male body obsession and some never grow out of it. I think the guys fantasize about other men out of curiousity and because they are able to associate with them after all we do have the same thing downthere. So as long as you are feeling an association other guys in this way, I think its normal and nothing to worry about. I think it is important that realize however fantasies are not completely harmless, especially if your are the adventerous type becasue this is where one thing can lead to the next. So as long as one dosen't act on these fantasies, that is they simply remain fantasies - the individual is not really gay because they don't associate themselves with that sort of lifestyle.
