You could very well sit and work out the scientific odds of what colour your babies eyes will be, but in the end that is all you will find out, the odds. No matter what the odds are, the smallest odds could still come up top!! just wait and see when your children come!! My parents and grandparents had grey, blue and brown eyes. Me and my brothers have green.

it's hard to predict, there's a lot of factors involved and it would depend upon the child's parents eye color, their eye color and whether or not they carried dominant brown, green or blue traits which they inherited...even then many eye colors and shades are not explained. For example, my mother has green eyes, my father has brown, my mothers parents had green and brown eyes, my fathers parents had brwon and brown eyes. Technically I should have had brown or green eyes and my brother and sister do, but I have blue eyes because eye color is determined by much more tha two sets of genes.

I don't know specific genes for eyecolor, but we've studied the workings of DNA. allthough green/blue is a posibility i think there is no way you can be sure. Do you know which are the dominant allels (is that the correct english word?) and what are the recessive ones? the fact that brown is quite common makes me think that allel would be dominant, expecially over the not so common and therefore likely recessive allel for green eyes. but it is quite possible either brown or green are made by a mixture of allels rather than one being dominant. i have green-grey-blue-yellow eyes, so...

Hard to tell I have hazel eyes, my husband has brown eyes We have 3 children all with different eye colors - one with blue, one with brown and one with hazel

It's hard to say. Brown is usually the dominant gene but if you have other's with blue and green it's possible they can have blue, green, hazel or brown. Here's an example, a real one: my parents; one had brown eyes, the other had blue eyes; 3 of their children have brown eyes, 1 has blue, 1 has hazel and 3 have green eyes. I have green eyes and my husband has blue eyes: our first daughter has brown eyes and my son has blue. You just never know what genes are gonna pop up!
