There are xeptions = My x-significant other "opened" our relationship after three years and kept it that way until it ended 6 years later (4 other reasons!!!btw Ther those who would blame our the "open" in our relationship 4 its downfall) ..We were the exeption not the rule..
In our arrangement as a "pair" we allowed 4 shared sexual partners & individual experimentation /intimacies..this takes real stregth,, but ironically it streghtened our bond.. and added many profound or just amusing experiences to talk about and laugh about together.

Lastly i encourage u to keep experimenting.. even if u have some really ugly experiences.. and even go further 2 try it all .. Sex in groups can be extremely profound spiritually or just frackin fun...

This answer is long i know. but its a topic on which i i could write enough to fill a good sized library ... from personal experiences alone.
