  • I do it all the time. Not like reams of papers or anything like that but once in a while a pen here or there or perhaps a paper clip or envelope. I think they'd pardon me for that.
  • I think taking anything deliberately from a workplace without permission is stealing. I don't think it's morally reprehensible if you have a paper clip on some folders or you use a pen from work, but if you do something on purpose, it's wrong.
  • Is stealing morally acceptable? You're funny!
  • Legally you could get as much as 20 years in jail for taking deliberately anything. Stationary may seem inconsequential, but it just seems that way.
  • No it's not morally acceptable. Just think how much it's costing your employer to purchase more of the item you are stealing, then he/she should have to. Not only that, you probably aren't the only person stealing little things and thinking it doesn't matter. When a lot of people are doing it, it adds up. If you think about it, you might be able to make a few more dollars an hour, if you employer didn't have to pay out needless extra money to cover the costs of what employees take from the supply room. Because of people like you the other employees who don't steal stuff are getting screwed too because they could be making a few extra dollars too.
  • Good question. I don't think it is morally acceptable, but I also don't think a person who did it would or should be labeled a thief.
  • Stealing is stealing.
