I'm watching "Bones" and they just showed a graphic scene with an eyeball poppying out of a skull. Do you think the producers and directors are trying to shock people? Why or why not?

Sometimes shows will throw in a bit of extreme graphics to see how the ratings go and if they get complaints. This allows them to keep up with the times and stay ahead of the game.

I think they are trying to make it as real and grusome as possible. I read that the producers want things to get people talking about the show. So they could possibly make it as gross as possible to get people talking and possibly get ratings up.
