  • I can only tell you why Iiii did. My mother is toxic. I have made a successful life for myself exactly half a country away not having to listen to her nagging me about: not the right job, husband, kids not behaved, and on and ON. The assumption is, in my mind, that the answer to your question is: a whole LOTTA moms, are not living up to the reputation of being "good" mothers.
  • Because mine isnt worth it. I was never worth it to her and she could careless what I do or where I live. So I followed my dreams and never put her into the desision making for where I go or live. When my parents dicorced I was under 3. I looked like my father, and she couldn't stand looking at me. She never got over that and always treated me with a bit of hatered. Took me years to move on and not be hurt by it. So yea, I don't call her on mothers day either.
  • Because people have to live their own lives. Family is important, and you should always stay in contact with them, but you also need to accept that you need to make your own decisions and life choices dependent upon what's best for you- which may include moving hundreds and thousands of miles away.
