Yes. Young adults now are facing a more competitive world. Just take a look at the skills needed to get a job these days. I'm pretty sure computer literacy wasn't needed 30 years ago.

Considering that a lot of jobs have been outsourced overseas and that the employment market is way more competitive than it ever has, today's youth need to strive much harder to succeed if they want to make it in this tough world of ours.

Frankly, I don't think so. Everyone tends to think it is most difficult for him oder herself. Imagine what our grandparent's generation had to go through in WW II. Life is always difficult, and one has to cope with it. Don't blame you problems on the times or one someone else.

Not harder or easier, just different. It seems a lot of things are like a self-made crisis, so many will try to make things harder than they really are or have to be. Personally, I like a more simpler life with simple things, and try not to make anything more difficult than it has to be.
