  • It would be recommened not to put any jokes on the table that days for several reasons: what if the judge says "I will fine you $50,000. Lets guess if I am joking or not." Plus, it will look better for you to be professional on that day. The judge might even think "Wow, this is the first person not to crack a joke." I have seen small cases thrown out or leniency granted due to that. I know it seems like a time you might be able to pull one over on the courts, but its those times you maintain your courtesy that the courts would do the same..and more. Example: If you were a judge and every wisecrack mentioned something smart to you, how would you feel? Now, what if the someone came in, said what they ahd to say, was respectful and courteous? It goes a long way. At least you know that pulling jokes might get you no mercy. Being nice, you definitely have a shot.
  • I don't really think that would be a good idea in court not many judges are known for their sense of humor, if there's even the smallest chance of offending a judge who's judging your case i really wouldn't take it it's not woth the humor that you might get out of it
  • a court room is no place to joke....no matter what day it is.......take care...Brian....
  • depends do you want to dig your hole deeper or leave it the way it is? lol
  • I was a Law student for a bit, and my legal advice would be, not to even chance pissing off the Judge even if your joke is the best joke in the world.
  • That will be five days to serve for contempt of court.
  • Any little joke might be too expensive for the court room.
