  • First of all, we don't really know where God lives. A few verses of our scriptures do make reference to a planet Kolob which is described as being close to God's throne. What is meant by this is a matter of interpretation. Where is Kolob? God has not told us that. The Father's exact family structure has not been revealed. Some church leaders have expressed opinions on this subject, but none of these opinions have been canonized as church doctrine. This is again an area where God has not seen fit to give us any details. As for making more spirit children, again God has not told us that he is. However, I would speculate that He probably is. I see no reason why He would not continue to produce more. However, I would not think that He would be sending them to this world. God has said that his creations and works are endless. So, He probably has other world to which He is sending his children. It strikes me as rather arrogant to think that we are the only creations of His hands. ********************* "Max-Power: That helps clarify things a bit but then why are non doctrine things taught as doctrine? It seems LDS members believe different things." There are two factors involved here. First, we humans are a very curious species. We want answers to our questions. However, God has not revealed everything to us. This leaves room for speculation and opinion. In a quest to answer questions that God has not answered we will sometimes give our opinions on the subject. Unfortunately, (this is the second factor) being the imperfect beings that we are, we don't always remember to differentiate between revealed doctrine and personal opinion. This does lead to a certain amount of confusion. This is why having living prophets are so important. In other churches, when personal opinion and speculation get substituted for established doctrine, there is no authority to pull the body back to the doctrine. So, over time, misconceptions can and do alter the teachings of a religion. With us, when speculation begins to lead us into error, the prophet can receive revelation from God to pull us back to the truth.
