  • My grandma lived in a really old house. Her and my grandpa only had this small little gas heater in the living room. So, when we would go to bed at night her bedroom would be very cold. Well, when we got in the bed she would have lots and lots of blankets to cover us up with. It was so cozy and I swear I've never slept so good like I have at her house. Anyway, she had chickens (yes, I'm a southern girl) and when the sun would rise they would crow. You know, like a little farm. The following morning it would be freezing in her room so it took a lot of will power to come out from under those blankets but once you did and you hauled ass across to the living room, it was like heaven. It was so warm and all you could smell was her homemade fried bread. She would say good morning pumpkin (that was my nickname my grandpa gave me.) It just made me feel so good being there (that is until my cousins would show up to visit and stole all my attention) LOL! Guess you gotta share grandmas. Ahhh...childhood. No worries...nothing to do but play all day.
  • My dad taking my sister and me to downtown Philly on the bus to go Christmas shopping. We would wait in line to see Santa, walk through an enchanted Christmas village, ride a little monorail around the ceiling of the department store, watch an enormous musical Christmas light display at Wannamaker's Department store, stop for food and throw back a shirley temple (dad had a beer, probably more than one) and then stop to buy Christmas candy right by the bus stop in front of City Hall where we waited to get the bus home. It was always cold and we were exhausted by day's end. I still work once in a while around those locations, and I think about those experiences every time:)
  • I had a friend i was madly in love with ,,,lol still am,,, she ran away from home and i kept her at my house. We had a big walk in closet she would sleep in there so my parents wouldnt find her. Well of course they did and told her to leave I told them "she has nowhere to go" and id leave too so i took a bottle of liquer from my parents , grabbed a sleeping bag. We went to this graveyard we used to hang out at, got drunk and slept behind a big cross. It was cold so i told her we should take off our clothes and our body heat would keep us warm {lol smart kid huh},,,,It was innocent,,,,,,,, i was too scared at the time lol and a virgin, but it still makes me smile to this day ,and i always think of her,,,,,,,,,,,,,
