Yes, I live in farm country so I am surrounded by cows and horses. They are a staple at all the local fairs too. I just can't walk by without petting them :)

Yep, nice enough creatures...smelly though and inclined to just barge right on through you...regardless of your feet and such...horses and alpacas are better to pet.

Yes, I've even attempted to milk one - failed by the way- it is a lot harder than it looks. I've been around cows because I have family members who own farms here in the U.S and in Mexico.

- I worked with a guy who grew up on a farm and liked to throw rocks at cows, and his pappy said "Son, don't throw no rocks at them cows - might kill one". (I'm paraphrasing here.) He kept doing it, and once a cow turned its head just as he threw, so that it hit it right between the eyes and knocked it to its knees. Talk about an "oh, crap" moment.

Yes. We had cows when I was growing up, for milk..not food. There was one with a crumpled horn named Daisy, she was so sweet...just a big pet.

Yep..we had cows when I was a kid..I rode one of them big ol bulls once too..I don't recommend that to anyone but cowboys..LOL :)

Yes, lived on a farm until I was 9 years old, then again from 14 - 17. When I went to college I worked on a dairy to help pay my way through school, so I've touched more than a few cows.

Yes, lots of times.

Last year I was living in a barn conversion on a farm that bred Bristish Charolais cows and they were calving in the field at the front of the house. One was born to a mother that couldn't produce any milk so it was really weak until the farmer realised. He had to bottle feed the cow every day so when the little thing saw us outside it used to run over to the fence to see if we were going to feed him. If we were out petting him when the farmer turned up, he used to ask us to give him his bottle because he was really busy.

We nicknamed the little thing Baby Dave - the farmer thought the name was hilarious.

The mothers were really curious and friendly too and if I was out at my car or putting the washing on the line, the cows would come over to say hello and have their heads rubbed.

Yes! I love cows, they're cute and funny. I actually really love going to petting zoos and farms, it makes me feel like a little kid.

Several times, but the coolest time was when my wife and I were on our honeymoon in Europe. We rented some bikes outside of Dublin, and were headed to Droogheada (sp?). On this old country rode, there was a cow watching us pass by. Being animal lovers, we pulled over. So there we are out in the middle of nowhere in Ireland scritching a cow's forhead. My wife even kissed her.
