This is really news to me. Interesting. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympic_Flame As the tradition of the olympic flame itself is older than that, I don't find it offensive. Besides, the actual context, with the torch and flame traveling over the world and uniting countries (of all creeds and ethnicities) has an altogether different significance and symbolism. I don't think more than a tiny fraction of the population might associate it with nazism.
