Sure. Why would we think people lie? I would think the most honest people are the ones with profiles.

I don't know about others, but I tell the truth in mine. Then again, mine is just a bunch of quotes and a nice passage from a good book.

On here? Hell no. I think men especially feel the need to present themselves as single when they are married or much more physically attractive than they are in real life. It just befuddles my mind how they think this stuff will never come to light.

I did in mine... Don't know about others. I think many of those on my friends list do, if they have one.

I can only speak for myself. My profile is 100% accurate. I can't tell nor do I care if someone else is telling the truth. I know and judge them as they are here at AB. I don't read between the lines or psychoanalyze any of this. I don't lose sleep over what someone says here in their profile. None of you know my name or my picture and that is where I draw my line.

I can think of a few that I am sure are "stretching the truth" Speaking for myself, I told the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Edit: perhaps the person who rated this down would like to elaborate on why they find this answer "not helpful".

Not much to see in mine, but it's all truthful.

I think many profiles are embellished. If you pay close attention to the users' Q & A and comment threads, you get a picture of these users that is closer to the truth.

i don't see the point in lying really. it's not like we know every single person in real life so what difference would it make to lie? i do, but then again my profile isn't the most beautiful looking layout lol. :)

I think many do, but I also notice that many here don't put anything of substance in their profile in the first place.

I do! My foundation is all 100% accurate and true (in my mind) None of the images have been photoshopped or anything (very much)

Honestly who really cares if they do or don't. I always tell the truth about anything I put in mine.

I do. But there is not much about me in there. I don't like to blatantly talk about myself. Most of it is quotes that I like.

I think some tell the truth and others do not. I also think it's unwise though to put too much information out there.

Some things you can google :-) I think everyone should be honest on their profiles though. If you feel like you can't be honest then don't put that much info.

I assume people tell the truth. I can tell you my profile says what I think is the truth. There's no reason for me to not be truthful.

Some do and some don't.It doesn't really matter what people put because there is no way of checking whether it is true or false information.The character of the person is obtained by their posts not what they think their character is.People tend to give too much information about themselves others keep a low profile and give nothing away.I truly live in Cheshire England,and its a large county,and my surname is not Schonberg,neither do I live in Berlin,so you cannot truly believe what people say about themselves.Its all part of keeping your identity a secret.Some people choose to say anonymous,and others use use a Avatar and a false name. +5

I haven't created a profile but,i know profiles which are just show off stuffs.People are way different in reality. .. Most of the time it's just for attention and nothing.

I think most people do. I don't see why they would need to lie about it. I prefer to believe people until they prove to me absolutely that they are not to be trusted.
