Devil(s) do exists. They are spiritual entities and they are real. The Bible is a good book on the subject, but they are others. They (Devils/Demons) are servants to Satan who is their ultimate master. Although few people actually seen them, the effects of their presence can be readily seen and felt. They can not posses you accidentally; they need your permission to become operational in your life. They will often “lure” you into activities where your conscience (God given) becomes non-responsive, and you give a “consent” by deed, act (or verbally). From that moment, unless you make a 180 degree turn, (it’s called repentance if you are a beliver in God) you will be under their control and influence. To what extent you say? It depends on you. With Hitler, (Stalin, Mao, Pot, etc…) they had a heyday… They can “possess” you for a time, or for whole of your life, or just influence your behavior. The Bible urges you to resist “them” and to flee from them. There is nothing to be afraid. They need your permission to become operational in your life. One of the good books to read on this is Dante’s Inferno; it will give you an idea.

It is logical *if* you take it as a fundamental fact that God exists, is omnipotent and omnibenevolent. On that basis, there must be some evil counterforce, which you cn call the Devil. But to get there, you have made a HUGE implicit assumption, which many people would not accept. If God does not exist, does exist but has plans we know not of, or is not absolutely 100% omnipotent, then there is no reason to posit a Devil to explain things not being the way we think they out to be. It is another version of the classic circular argument: God exist - the Bible says so. How do we know the bible is right? God wrote it. Given that God exists and the woirld is not perfect, the Deviel must exist. And since the Devil exists, we need God to fight him.

My view is that you need to start watching better programmes :)

People tend to try to explain things that they can't prove or don't know using the simplest means possible. Anything, good or bad, that science has yet to solve is automatically chalked up as work of God or the Devil. Things that happened 200 years ago and were deemed miracles at the time are now easily explained by science. I personally, as an athiest and scientist, don't believe the devil exists and find this type of "evidence" laughable.
