I do it so I don't have to hear the annoying series of beeps when it finishes.

Mine beeps like 8 times so I always stop it just before it beeps.

I do that all the time. How sad is it that I am so impatient I can't wait one second for something that is already taking less time to cook than it would if it was being cooked the conventional way.

Nope. But I definitely stop it right before it's done to keep it from beeping a bunch of times. The problem with that is then you have to reset it, which can be just as many beeps depending on the microwave. I love my parents' microwave. If you time it just right, you can open it on zero seconds. Then you won't have to listen to it beep, and you don't have to reset it!

Actually, I always stop it one second before because I hate hearing it curse. :P
