Well, my husband and I had one online date. Now, keep in mind, we have a goofu sense of humor and we both are fairly creative. We used IM's and the <-- arrows to indicate who was doing what. It started when he "saw me across the room" (chat room, that is) and we proceeded to go for a walk and then have a dnace and he twirled me and spun me in to the band. Yeah...we were silly. We just bantered back and forth as if we were narrating a play or a movie. I don't think an online date has to be planned out. Meeting online and having a chat is one of the advantages of meeting someone online - you don't have to mire through the date stuff like ordering drinks and who pays for what and how do you excuse yourself to the restroom, etc. We also used to send each other links to restaurant websites, travel sites and sites for historic and/or scenic locations as "settings" and we really just ended up using those are springboards for other conversations.
