  • You need to decide what is best for you . If you are not happy with the way you were treated previously by them you may want to consider a different job, if the job makes you happy and you can look past being laid off previously then go for it. I would look at the pros and cons of the job and going back then consider all options. The worst part of a lay off is can you depend on this job, & you never really do know if you will get laid off again. I would consider permanence so it can show a relaible level of income. Good luck.
  • Did you love the job? Or at least like it? If you did, then I would go back. Eat humble pie (I know it's hard), but people will respect you for rising above it. Plus, now you have the upper hand and maybe can negotiate a better salary with more vacation/PTO. If you loved it and the company, take it. You really have nothing to lose. Good luck with your decision! :)
  • go back if you need the money and are on unemployment
  • If you are on unemployment and refuse to return to a job or take a job with pay reasonably equal to what you made, you lose the unemployment. That tells you all you need to know.
  • What else have you to do? You're unemployed. Money is money. The difference is you know where you stand this time. You're not special to them.
  • Go back for you, not for them.
  • Employment is not a personal friendship relationship. You use the company and the company uses you. Take the offer and keep looking for another form of employment, that way if you get a great offer you can leave and return the favor.
  • That is a real dilemma, seriously I mean that! How about approaching job consultants in some government agency perhaps they could help you take a decision. Personally I would go and work for them if I needed the money. I would be applying for positions and get out as soon as I had found another job! Best of luck!
  • My opinion is: Do what works for you. If you really need a job then do it. Screw the hard feelings that you have for the company..and just go into it like it is just a job (because that in the end is all it is). Don't put an emotional price on it, or try not to. It all boils down to: What is best for me? to go back to work or to not go back to work...Weight this out financially, and psychologically...but don't let your pride get in the way. Pride has little to do with financial needs at times. If you do go back..don't expect anything. They have already proven to you how expendible you are to them. Go back on your terms: do a job/ get paid for it.
  • Good afternoon Sweetest of all snake lovers. If it is a place you like to work, and the work is fulfilling in some way (pay, interesting, whatever you can think of) then you should always be willing to jump back in. Every single employer is using every single employee If they can't use us, they don't need us. They pay, we do the job. We don't do the job, they don't pay. Jump in, even if you think it is only going to last just a few weeks.
  • Hey M!!!, well if you liked the job, and i know you did, and money is tight, then i would swallow my pride and go back.. after all they came looking for you, its not as if you begged them to take you back. BUT i would let them know that they better not muck you around any more. Let me know what happens.. and good luck!!!!
