In general, you need to be a E-4(P), a Specialist who has passed his promotion board, or an E-5 (Sergeant) and above to apply for SF. Assuming you enlist as a E-1 (Private) at 18, you could be apply for SF at about 23 or so (assuming normal advancement in rank).

It's not a matter of age, but of time in service and rank. You have to be at least E-4 promotable or O-2 promotable. Airborne qualification and foreign language requirement can be met after passing the Q course. +3
