    Windows CE is the name given to the older generation mobile device OS wheras Windows Mobile is the newer generation such as version 5 installed on devices such as the HTC Tytn.

    Windows CE is the name of the OS, that runs on all embedded devices incl phones. Windows Mobile is not really an OS. On the high level, its a shell that exposes a set of services around the underlying Windows CE OS
