Why do people make fun of others? I have been made fun of and have made fun of others. Why can't we just let others do what they want to do (as long as they don't hurt anyone)?

People fun of others because they can. They believe it is their right. I've heard the argument that this is a free country, and therefore they are free to do what they want. Unfortunately, you really cannot do anything about the behavior of others. The only thing you can change is how you to choose to react to it. Everyone does it dont take it personal it is just part of life, sometimes when someone make fun it does hurt your feeling but i allways correct the proplem and then there is nothing that can be sed about that but they still have there imprefections everyone notices and when you know you own imprefections that is the worst i think because you know it needs to be corected, some people try or have tried to hurt my feelings i just laught at them i have a probem of being to confiedent in myself and that bothers some people but they just need to learn not to look at other peoples imperfections and focus on that and tease and make fun.Because they are just wasteing there own time and when they look back they didnt accomplish as much as the could have and did something about there own situations and help others.

In many cases, when people consistently make fun of others or agitate them, it may be a cry for attention, if a person feels they are not getting enough or any positive reinforcements or they feel they are being ignored, they may resort to behaving extremely abusive, so that people will return with a response, though it may be a negative response, at least they aren't being ignored. In a cliche "If you won't give me warm fuzzies, then I'll make you give me cold pricklies".
