It may be the ground for either a position sensor on the throttle, or the brakelight sensor is faulty, or both.
When there is a faulty ground, the power will find the next sortest way through the system. Often through an indicator light.

You're reading I have a LDV Cub Van. Battery is flat, everytime i accerlerate the handbrake sign appears, when i take my foot off it goes off. Something is tripping the battery. Any ideas?
