No harm in using honey. But you won't be able to resist the tempation to lick it all up. So the purpose will not be served.

No. I have used it in a homemade lip exfoliation treatment though. It's really good for your lips, but using it as a gloss is too sticky for my tastes. Also see: Honey is an excellent choice as a treatment for a bad case of chapped and cracked lips because it is moisturizing and healing. Honey is safe to use on small cuts, and it is antibacterial so it will also keep lips from getting infected. Use honey on lips before going to bed at night, or apply throughout the day.
