Yes, but not for fishing. We were making a gurney out of two cane poles and a blanket. Some kind of first aid training, but I can't remember for what. I know people who have fished with them though. I've always used a rod and reel. I don't have the patience for fishing.

  I've done that before! The poles weren't painted, though. I had completely forgotten about that!
