I don't believe in "sin" or "evil". These are man-made xian concepts to keep people going to their churches and, in turn, giving loads of money to them. Brainwashing, through guilt, that's about it.
-
Not in and of themselves. When one puts their personal pleasures and drives ahead of everything and everyone else that they become sinful.
-
I think they may be unhealthy if excessive or abusive. I wouldn't say sexual desires are sinful or evil and I don't think wanting to live comfortably is sinful or evil either.
-
Sin and evil are imaginary. Everything is going to be evil to someone somewhere
-
No I do not believe they are. Only if they are at the expense of another persons wellbeing or happiness and then they are just greedy . They do not have to be sinful or evil.
-
no, not on this plane, you can use your own success to help others if you learn to give :)
-
Wouldn't the commandment to "be fruitful and multiply" be kinda hard to carry out if sex were painful? I'm pretty sure ther isn't anything in the Bible where God said "Let us make man in our image and let anything good and pure be painful."
-
Nah, I've never been a Puritan.
-
no... but they're not healthy, staying humble is the way to go
-
Absolutely not. If physical pleasure and material things are gained ethically they aren't evil.
-
I think they are tools for directing one towards an understanding of something that lasts. Anything physical or material with time, decays.
-
anything out of moderation can lead to your self destruction so if it throws off what priorities should be i guess so
-
I'm sure that the Bible states that materialism is evil. But physical pleasure is not. Sex is mentioned in the Bible several times....adultery is evil, not the sex.
-
maybe... i would not like that to be the case though because i sure have screwed up if they pursuit of happiness was evil!
