This is an indicator light that tells you that you automatic over drive is not functioning. If the light is flashing it means a service problem if it is just on then it means that the problem is a sensor problem. most likely from not allowing your sensor indicator lights to go out before driving your auto. If you start your vehicle allow the light to go out before engaging the transmission (shifting). If the light stays on after a minute then your sensor or transmission needs to be checked. Could be a simple fix as it could be low on transmission fluid.
could be a tire pressure issue if you do not have a tire pressure monitor, My 2002 laredo did that if presures were out of whack.

The electrically controlled overdrive in your transmission has turned itself off. This could be due to a fuse or loose wire. It could also be something more serious. Best to get it checked by a shop.
