  • Yes they should in that the companies trying to stop people downloading music are from the dinosaur age of the industry and deserve the same fate for trying to criminalize an inevitable activity.
  • It's legal to download music in Canada but not to upload. To pacify those morons over at the RIAA, there is an itty bitty tax on all the CDs and what-not in stores, which is fine by me. I d/l music to test out and if I like it, I will buy the CD to show support for the musicians. So yes, I think "illegal" download sites should be allowed to exist. They can be used as an excellent promotion technique and they provide entertainment for the destitute who need an escape from reality more so than others. If Metallica can't add a few million onto their millions because of it, then too bad. ;)
