I like a nice peaceful Burial.

Burial for a small animal like a hamster or lizard, but for larger animals (cats & dogs) I take them right to an animal shelter that has a crematory. It's a little cheaper than having the vet do it. The vet will only take them there anyway (if you have an honest one), and charge you extra for that service. If you're not sure where to go, call your vet and ask. There was a big scandal here a few years ago about a vet that accepted money for animal cremation, then just too the carcasses to the landfill. He was caught and punished, but since then I have been mistrustful of this service.
