  • Not an official holiday as such but Guy Fawkes night on the 5th November is one. Of course it has deeper cultural roots than the Gunpowder Plot but that is what is remembered now when the 5th Nov comes round.
  • Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras is French for Fat Tuesday. Originally it was a day of feasting and celebration before the 40 days of Lent when fasting and penance were practiced by the Catholic church. Now, it's a celebration that lasts for six weeks before Ash Wednesday and has very little religious significance.

  • We have ''Saint-Jean Baptiste'' where people just get drunk for three days straight. • Labor Day, Arbor Day, 4th of July, Columbus Day, Memorial Day
  • New Year's Day, President's Day, and Thanksgiving.
