The firewall is the best protection for your computer if you spend any time on the internet. You can turn it off.. but you shouldn't eliminate it. If you are having problems downloading things or anything like that you can find info on how to handle such problems.

If it's windows firewall -- goto your 'control panel', open up 'windows firewall' and select 'off' or 'disable'...whichever version of windows you have. If it's something you downloaded/bought, there should be an 'uninstall' option in your 'Start' menu, (bottom-left screen). If it's a feature to an anti-virus, then *don't* uninstall. There should be a disable option in your anti-virius' agent; (open from Start menu).

Do you want to eliminate your firewall or computer? Are you talking about a hardware or software firewall?

and why would you want to ? if it for the reason of turning of the default firewall becuase you are installing your own like zonealarm thats cool but you really need some kind of firewall of somekind
