Among the majority of mankind today, what has happened to love for God and for the Bible?

It has decreased with these new ideas of living, and the governments attempts to get rid of them all the time.

the majority of mankind today is leaving God simply because they choose to do their own will, not God's.. too much into this materialistic world and their love for money. guess money and material possessions are taking precedence... its hard, we all struggle with what is first...who is first...

I imagine many are turned off by religion because a lot of holier than thou types have beat other people over the head so long with their sanctimoneous, hypocritical self-righteousness that an honest sinner is greatly preferred company to a bigoted holy man. There is not one religious leader today that Jesus wouldn't put on the cross himself!

It is not just love of God and the Bible is becoming scarce. Love for one another has also greatly evaporated in society all over. Christ Jesus foretold that in our time, prophetically described as the “last days” of the present unrighteous system, people would be affected by wars, food shortages and other serious problems, all hitting mankind at the same time. He also said that “because of the increasing of lawlessness the love of the greater number will cool off.” (Matt. 24:3-12; 2 Tim. 3:1-4) Love for God, interest in knowing about him, in reading his Word, the Bible, and learning what his standards and purposes are, have certainly ‘cooled off’ among the majority today.
