At least until 18. If they go to college and they are actually tight on money I'd let them stay at home. After college I'd get them settled into a place, and then they are on there own.
-
I think 18 is the right age or until they're legally emancipated.
-
18, definitely. 'Responsibility' means not having an 'abide by our rules or get out' attitude, as well.
-
18 seems to be the answer all round
-
Depending on the temperament of the child...up until 21. Some kids are late bloomers and need extra help.
-
personally responsible until you make sure you did your job, now legally, if in college 18 all others 21
-
18
-
sorry put my answer in the wrong place - Well to be "responsible" I would say 16 years old. But of course you should love them and be there to help forever. :)
-
until 18, (19 tops). But I know of the parents who still pay the bills of their 50+ year old (normal) son. And that is just not right.
-
Until 19, but certain things can be taken care of by the son/daughter on their own from the age of 16.
-
until they are 18
-
Legally it's 18. However, a parent's job is never over even when the kids leave the nest.
-
I feel i would have to be responsible for my children right up till the day they settle down and have family of their own.
-
18, thats the legal age.. and then if a parent wants to help and support after that its their choice
-
From cradle to grave! Let those that bring these individuals into this world cover the cost to society as long as they are alive!
-
Parents should be responsible to their children until a. age 18. b. their children cease to recognize and adhere to parental guidance. c. whichever comes first.
-
Until children settle down & start their own job.
-
Depends how mentally competent they are. If they have no developmental problems, probably 18-21. Otherwise, it might be longer, and some cases indefinitely (if they are seriously disabled)
-
In theory, always. Just because they reach a certain age doesn't mean you shouldn't be looking out for them. Now at a legal standpoint, 18.
-
Only up to a certain age.
-
I think 21..18 is too young. You're still a baby.
-
They should always be there for you, and help you until they die, if you need it. but as for responsibility, 18 - 21, basically when you start you're own life.
