  • I'd bring back George Patton and put him in charge of the IRaq situation and let him fix it quickly. Maybe MacAurthur as well if we could bring him back and let him take over that campaign. With those two we would have everything in control in a matter of months.
  • I'd bring back Princess Diana. I think she would have made a wonderful difference throughout the world if she were still alive.
  • I'd bring back John Ritter because he is funny.
  • Karen Carpenter. Her enormous vocal talent was tragically cut short too early, and I would have loved to see how she could have sung more great songs and made more wonderful music with her equally talented brother Richard.
  • I'd love to have a conversation with Princess Di. If not her, then Tesla would be interesting to talk to as well.
  • Buddha. He taught peace and truth by finding the part of God that lives within us all, and then following that to achieve a unity with the whole universe ... but insisted that WE need to do it, rather than looking to the part of God that is outside of us, and waiting for that part of God to do it for us ...
  • I'm not a Christan but I would bring back Jesus. And then promptly and politely ask him to straighten this shi* out.
  • I would like to bring back Wyatt Earp, to ask him how much of the story is true, and which movie version he thought was closest to factual, (Burt Lancaster's, Kevin Costner's, Kurt Russell's, or the Star Trek t.v. version)!
  • It's a tie between John Lennon and Albert Einstein. Because they both understood what Peace and Love meant, from entirely different perspectives.
  • I would bring back Churchill. He was a tremendous wartime leader and statesman.
  • Ghandi . . . to help deal with the issues contaminating the world peace process.
  • I can seriously think of a great many I'd love to bring back, but by the same token my deep respect for them would make me pity them trying to comprehend what has changed both how and why. Nostradamus, mainly to try to figure out just how much he really did know and how and why, without him having to deal with the persecution that made him wrap his predictions in such mystery. Leonardo Davinci just to 1)Give him a chance to be proud of all the great contributions he gave us in both science and art. 2) See how well he'd do in todays society, I suspect with some tutoring he'd still wow people just as much even now. Benjamin Franklin for many of the same reasons but also to see what his impression of what has become of the 'fledgling country' he helped forge. I'd also include Einstein, Newton, Galileo, Copernicus and a host of other remarkable minds of not only their own times but of all time. People who's remarkable foresight have left indelible marks on all of civilization as we know it.
  • 1) James Madison - to fully explain the "original intent" issues of the Constitution; what the Founding Fathers indeed meant 2) George Washington - despite some political carping during his second term, he was overwhelmingly well respected and was a unifying force for the country; that would be a big help in our "permanent campaign" society which lacks any respect for other opinions nor the character to set common good above personal political gain
  • I would like to see Jesus back in his resurrected physical Glory in the 2nd coming to get rid of everything bad. Watch out child abusers, thieves, murderers, those that have and give not to starving children, religious snobs full of themselves, persons that have sex for fun and abandon the person that loved you. What goes around comes around if not in this life surely the next. Hopefully pay for wrong done in this life not the judgment of the next life, and for a repentant heart in this life the rewards of the next life. And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he does judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should strike the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. Revelation 19:11 Until that glorious Day Jesus Christ is already back by the Holy Invisible Spirit, and through Christians in the World. Celebrate Easter the Death & Resurrection of God Son
  • I'd bring back everyone who participated in the Boston Tea Party, because we need people with that kind of attitude to help us get control of our government. The signers of the Declaration of Independence and the authors of the U.S. Constitution would also help! Hey, I am a descendant of one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
  • There are so many great "men" answers that I feel obliged to remember a few remarkable women from history. http://www.rootsweb.com/~nwa/grace.html Grace O'Malley (also called Granuaile) was a famous pirate, seafarer, trader and chieftain in Ireland in the 1500's. In her later years, Grace developed her reputation as a fearless leader through her efforts in battle along side her followers. Legend has it that Grace gave birth to one of her sons while out to sea. The very next day following the birth of the baby, the ship was attacked by Turkish pirates. Though exhausted from giving birth Grace grabbed a gun, went on deck and proceded to rally her men against the Turks, forcing their retreat. Sacajawea of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. Throughout the expedition, Sacajawea maintained a helpful, uncomplaining attitude of cheefulness in the face of hardship. This was so remarkable that it was commented on by all the men who kept diaries. The following is an excerpt from an essay on Rose Farrow whose courage helped to insure the birth of our great nation: Rosanna Farrow - An American Revolution heroin. Endowed with an unconquerable courage and perseverance, Rosanna Farrow proved herself a heroine when notified her three sons had been captured and were about to be hung by the British. Beneath that warm patriotic mother heart beat an impulse that inspired her to the most adventurous heroism. Hastening into the house she aroused her daughters and as she made hasty preparations she gave the poor defenseless girls directions to keep doors and windows closed, to remain indoors and to admit no one but friends until she returned. Snatching a rifle and bidding the half-startled girls to pray kind Heaven to shield them and those they loved, she went to the stable, caught and saddled an unbroken black colt, the only horse left on the place and one that had never been ridden before. Springing to the saddle as lightly as though she were a boy and binding herself to it with a girth, she galloped out into the darkness, calling cheerfully to her daughters, "It is not the most comfortable way of riding." Before daybreak of the second night of her wild ride she caught sight of the English standard waving above the scarlet uniforms of the British and with her apron as a flag of truce she dashed up to the camp to Colonel Cruger and informed him of the purpose of her mission. Colonel Cruger grimly replied, "Well, you are just in time, for I had given orders for those rebellious youngsters of yours to be hanged at sunrise, but I guess you can take the rebels." "My sons!" she cried, then turning with eyes flashing with indignation toward Cruger, she retorted, "I have given you two for one, Colonel Cruger, but understand that I consider it the best trade I ever made, for rest assured hereafter the 'Farrow boys' will whip you four to one." As she dashed off triumphantly followed by her sons, a soldier half jestingly but truthfully remarked, "That's a pretty good speech for so dainty a lady, but she is as warm for the cause as the men." Harriet Tubman whose life was a monument to courage and determination that continues to stand out in American history. Born into slavery in Maryland, Harriet Tubman freed herself, and played a major role in freeing the remaining millions. I also would love to see Catherine the Great and Pocohontas and Joan of Ark.
  • It's tough to answer this because the other answers are excellent. I especially agree with George Washington, Jefferson, Prince Di, Gandhi, and Benjamin Franklin. I think at this point in time, we are struggling as a society in the absence of these truly noble great world leaders. Well, I am speaking more about the U.S. than anywhere else, but I can only imagine what these famous figures would be doing to straighten out economic crisis, war, etc. To add to this list, I would say FDR, Elvis Presley, JFK, and Martin Luther King, Jr.
  • Nikola Tesla, it has long been said some of his inventions were so technologically advanced they were seized by the government as being a risk to national security.
