It is personal and i can't really explain it. Before everything happened i was in between. But after everything happened i started to believe in God.
-
That's why it's called Faith :o)

well, here: if the world's axis was off in each direction any angle, vapors would cover land and glaciers would cover the earth. If the earth's crust were any deeper or less deep, the oxygen and carbon dioxide levels would become upset, killing any chance of life If the oceans were any deeper, it would be too much weight and even gravity couldn't hold it down. think of this:the big bang theory. How can there be nothing, than spoof! something? It goes againtst the laws of physics. the chances of life being possible on a planet is 1 in like, alot according to scientists. you don't just get that lucky. There had to been something going on. Some intelligence. Hence, God

The ONLY logic in believing in a god (or more specifically, a creator) is that there are so many coincidences in this universe that had to have happened/developed EXACTLY as they did for life (in the way that we know it) to exist. Personally I dont believe in this, I believe it was pure chance. But this is the only piece of "evidence" (albeit circumstantial) that supports the existence of a creator.
-
There are no logical or reasonable grounds for belief in any deity. It is not a rational, reasonable or logical decision but one based on fear, ignorance, delusion and superstition.
-
You cannot mix belief and logic. The existence of God cannot be proved by means of logic, many logicians are atheists, actually. You can also not prove the *inexistence* of God by means of logic, by the way.
-
All things had to come from an ever present force ,airgo,God exists.
-
I can't help you believe, but I can help you WANT to believe. Either there is a just God or there isn't. Case 1. There is a just God and you live a devout life. You go to heaven. Case 2. There is a just God and you don't live a devout life. You go to hell. Case 3. There is no just God and you live a devout life. You die, end of consciousness. Case 4. These is no just God and you don't live a devout life. You die, end of consciousness. You don't want Case 2. Cases 3 and 4 mean there's no logical point to your life one way or the other after you've gone (as far as you are concerned.) That leaves case 1.

The aethiest, Liberal, scientific community has saturated our information sources with so much garbage that it's a small wonder that young people today are inclined to question the existence of God. The fact is, there's an abundance of archaelogical evidence to support biblical writings, moreso than the aetheistic viewpoint. Additionally, you don't have to be a brain surgeon recognize that our world was CREATED by an intellingent God. ..just look around you..you cannot deny it.
-
If I find something to be illogical, I have no use for it. Why would I waste time to having someone convince me of something that makes no sense to me. If you can't find a LOGICAL belief for God, perhaps you must go on FAITH. If faith doesn't work for you, then perhaps you might leave it alone. After all, there's nothing that requires you believe in God, is there?
-
The only logical thing I see about a belief in almost any deity is the psychological thought process presented by the survival instinct against anxieties, fears and frailties which would otherwise impede our progress in living and our evolution. As was said, I can't prove that God doesn't exist, but that doesn't mean there is no logical basis in human nature that can't suggest that God is our idea of perfection, peace, guidance and security which helps to disillusion us away from the harsh truths of being a human being on the Earth by conditioning ourselves with convictions and passing them off as ''beliefs''. Desire and belief are not the same, although it seems to me that most people don't realize this. It is logical, at least to enough people, and has a lot more basis, even if it really can't be confirmed, then most believer's arguments. It's not because science or psychology oppose or confront your beliefs that it should be dismissed. There are more feasible testaments to suggest God's inexistence then there are to show otherwise; which is basically like, none. I don't believe in God, but I'm glad we have religion. If we didn't, we'd all still be huddling in caves drawing pictures on the walls with our feces. No doubt for a second that archeology has revealed the existence of ancient Biblical writings and such, but religion is man-made, such findings are not proving the existence of God at all. In 2000 years somebody might dig up a copy of the New Testament, but that's not going to prove that God exists anymore then the Dead Sea Scrolls do. Dinosaurs were lizards, not dragons. Belief and hope are great tools to use in the face of adversity, which is man's greatest enemy, and the only thing that makes sense to me in relation to such behaviours and spiritual beliefs is how they come to be, what their purposes are as tools and how we'd be farked to deal with our awareness if we didn't have anything to fight off the fact that your house could burn down RIGHT NOW.
-
There's no logic in faith.
-
Personal experience during stillness / meditation. If a schlub like me can know it, you can too! Secondary reasons are: The people I've met who are tuned in to God / Spirit are the most genuine, joyful, blessing people I've ever met - their lives "work", and they report miracles of knowing, guidance, healing. The universe had to come from some initial force or cause. If there are psychic and spiritual connections between people, and between people and some other mind, then it follows that this world is not strictly material.
-
Believing in God isn't a logical thing. You either believe or you don't. And God how I believe is probably not the same way as others believe. Don't stress over believing in God or not, just find what suits you best and be a good person to yourself and those around you. That is what matters most. God (if God exists, which I do believe) isn't going to care at the end of your life if you believed or not, what will matter is how you behaved.
-
Meant to write a comment. I keep messing up, sorry.
-
You're on the right track. Belief in God isn't ABOUT logic; it exists IN SPITE OF logic...
-
Logical explanation of God would defeat the purpose. That's why people refer to their beliefs as "having faith."
-
for me... the proof has always been nature. i simply do not believe that all of the beauty in nature was simply created by random explosions in space and sub-atomic happenings. there must have been a plan... look at the perfection of snowflakes... the symmetry in nature. it's not random. it's beautiful.
-
No, neither can I.
-
Maybe thats just the thing. Beleiving in god isnt exactly LOGICAL... which is why it takes faith?
-
Not everything in life is logical. For instance if you look at it from a scientific point of view bees should not be able to fly. Their wings are too small in comparision to their size. There are a lot of other examples like this in the world but I am too tired to think of any at the moment.
-
I have bever really belive in the BIG GUY and i still dont... its because i have no hope and nothing tragic has happend to my life.. and i probally will never belive in HIM.
-
Our logic cannot understand God. To know God we must let go of our logic. We can reason with situations in our life, and we should use our reason until we know God is all there is. To have the experience of God is to be with Him, not in thought but in Reality, because He is the only true reality, everything else is mind stuff. I believe you are sincere, because you would like to know of God for sure. And because you are in need of answers I will point you to someone who can help you. And that someone is you. Look into Pranayama. And if you practice this, and learn to expand your love, not immediatley, but gradually will you know for sure. If you are persistant you will find what you are looking for. We all want God, but we don't find Him logically. We logically persue Him, but intuitionally know Him. We are intutional beings. God Bless
-
The God which you deny my friend is worthy of denial, That is it, is not God. I feel for you brother because you were born into a world where false idols are worshiped. Many people try to explain God, but very few are qualified to do that. People are impatient and they must ignore there ingnorance so that they can be superior to others. And whether you have to talk about sports, what happens all the time, or god, it's doesn't matter it's still folly. Belive me I know there are many reasons why not to support the mental process of others who speak of God but have no proof, no logical explanation. But the True God is not an object, It is the Space in which all objects exist. But space is also a creation, because with out creation there is no space, there is no measurer. So still God cannot be described because we are so identified with form, and cannot talk about the formless formlessly. But If I could sit with you friend, I would show you the aliveness inside of you, which is not logical. Your alive, atoms are spinning, and logic does not make that real. Trees have no logic, that does not mean they don't know God, they just don't know Him logically. The trees, they are alive, like you are alive, but they don't mentally analyse it. But the atoms that are spinning to form a tree, or a body, or a planet are the same. So to be aware of the life behind all form is to know God. Peace is called peace, but it is not peace that you feel, it is what it is. So logic cannot incapsulate the Truth, because truth is formless. What your mind wants is to be free to label anything and everything, so that this moment cannot be experienced or realized as all there is. This is the dysfuntion of humanity, never accepting what is without labels, or logic. You are not your mind, how could you be, you would not be able to see that it is working. God Bless P.s. I'm not trying to convince you of anything. I have no need for that, you can say this is all hog wash. I am not looking for fulfillment in things.
-
I'd say look around, trees, snails, broccoli, etc. It had to come from somewhere right? People say it's evolution and I say what if God created evolution? And to be honest I think it's more about faith than belief, so you can remove the word God if it makes you uncomfortable.
-
I could discuss this with you for years and neither of us could convince the other. I took a long detour through science and logic until I realized just last year, that the arguments FOR God are at least as valid as those AGAINST God. Read The Reason For God, by Timothy Keller. He does one of the best jobs I have ever read of answering this sort of question.
-
Faith and logic don't mix, but one can have both.
-
ya u hav 2 believe him coz he is the one dat brought the world, gav u life,2 breath and everything and he will take his lif when ever he likes so believe in him
-
I just can't believe we came from a "big bang" or dirt. Who made the dirt, where did the band come from? Why take a chance?
-
faith is faith and i mean undoubtably. GOD is just a word man has used. Every religon has it's own idol, but all in all if you have utter faith in what you believe then it is true. but it must be undoutably. me personally believe each person is their own god, but faith is still involed. so to you answer, you are your GOD!
-
thats actually not a bad thing. because :God: himself doesnt "logically" fit into the capacity of the human brain. someone to give their own son to be murdered for mankind doesnt fit into our minds b/c WE are not gods ourselves. looking at it "logically" is NOT the point..people may say faith isnt logical, christianity is more of the soul, mind, than logical physical type..
-
WITH GOD THERE IS NO LOGIC..IT IS NOT THE MATTER OF THE MIND BUT OF THE HEART..ITS WHAT U FEEL..ARE YOU ONE OF THE LIVING OR ONE OF THE DEAD..DO U LOVE WITH LOGIC OR DO YOU LOVE BECAUSE YOU ARE ALIVE.. TO BE OF THE LIVING ..ONE IS ALIVE WHEN ONE DOES NOT NEED A REASON TO LOVE OR BE LOVED..AS WITH GOD THERE IS NO LOGIC TO LOVING YOU..ITS THE MATTER OF HIS MERCIFULL HEART..AND BECAUSE HE LOVES ...YOU LIVE
-
There is no such thing as a logical belief in god. Indeed, the very concept is, on its face, illogical.
-
"we" believe in creation of the universe because it is here for us to see... if we deny that it is then we have nothing in common... i still love you for being illogical or judging me to be illogical... you decide!
-
Well, my reasoning is basically just that SOMETHING had to create the world we live in. I don't think something as complicated as life could happen without some kind of high power to help us out.

Let me know if the link doesn't work for you and I'll paste the whole thing here again. Or does etiquette say to paste it here anyway? http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/3201098

Your problem is that you are trying to look at things logically. Spirituality is about feelings not logic.
-
The absence of proof is NOT the same as the proof of absence. This does not prove God exists, but, logically, until there is proof that He does not exist, it is POSSIBLE that there may be a God. __________ When I was co-writing my Ph.D. thesis for math (entitled, "The Fundamental Laws of Chaos Dynamics), I was asked to try to find some sort of proof of God with provable math ... all we could come up with was proof that there is no such thing as real actual CHAOS ... there are ordered patterns in absolutely everything ... we may think something appears chaotic, but we are just not recognizing the patterns ... we clearly showed how what appears to be "Chaos" actually follows very rigid laws & rules as a simple pattern breaks down into a more complex pattern ... later came "Mandlebrot" with his fractals, and then later came complexly ordered algorithms that simulate randomness, yet there is no true chaos. This also fails to prove that God exists, yet it shows that the whole universe has order, and as such it implies that the universe may have been designed.

Well this was a good article that points out many of the scientific reasons at: http://www.watchtower.org/e/20040622/article_02.htm And further you can simply look at the bible. Consider the prophecies written: The book of Isaiah also foretold the fall of Babylon by Cyrus the Persian hundreds of years before the prophecy took place. Isaiah chapter 44 described every aspect from the conqueror named Cyrus who wasn't even born yet, to the fact that the river surrounding Babylon would be diverted and dried up, even that the doors to Babylon’s massive walls would be carelessly left open. Also that the city would never again be inhabited and Jews would be freed by Cyrus and allowed to return. The book of Isaiah was finished in the year 732B.C.E. You can read in any history book what eventually happened to Babylon. In detail the prophecy was fulfilled starting in 539 B.C.E., two hundred years later. Cyrus arrived with his army, diverted the waters of the Euphrates River into an artificial lake, leaving river around the city dry. Some his army simply walked across the river. The gates of Babylon were carelessly left open during feasting in the city, and Babylon fell to the Medes and Persians under Cyrus in one night. Thereafter, Cyrus liberated the Jewish exiles and sent them back to Jerusalem with instructions to rebuild Jehovah’s temple there. Also if you go to Babylon now, unlike other Middle East cities that are still inhabited, all you would find is ruins. —The Encyclopedia Americana (1956), Vol. III, p. 9; Light From the Ancient Past (Princeton, 1959) This was just one of the many prophecies in the bible that was fulfilled to the letter. Then between 618 and 535 B.C. Daniel received from God prophecies concerning the next world power that would overtake Persia as the next world power. Greece under Alexander the Great. About two hundred years before Alexander was born, Daniel had foretold the conqueror of Medo-Persia: “And a mighty king will certainly stand up and rule with extensive dominion and do according to his will. And when he will have stood up, his kingdom will be broken and be divided toward the four winds of the heavens, but not to his posterity.”—Dan. 11:3, 4 Daniel even described that when Alexander’s empire was broken (after he died) that it was divided between four of his generals and would not be passed on to his posterity (or children). If you read the book of Daniel you will see how he described these events hundreds of years in advance in great detail. These are just a couple of the prophecies that came true to the letter that prove that the bible is not inspired by men.

no logic its a fealing and an emotion and a calling in the hart or sprit.
-
Faith is not based on logic. You either want to believe or not. I contend that all that nay-sayer crap you read is an attempt to disprove something that was written about years ago by notable prophets of God but does not sit well with those spewing pessimistic views of a non-perfect world. Know one is saying you must or if you fail to you will burn in some place called hell. They are just offering the opportunity to find spirtual well-being and inner peace with yourself and the diety they call God. I'm not advocating pro or con, just giving you another point of view. Do with this information as you wish but it does feel better when you reflect that once this life is all said and done that there might be a better place to move on to. I'd like to think that!
-
Some excellent answers. I will add that there have been quite a few people who have been declared clinically dead and, once revived, have shared their experiences "beyond the veil." Their NDEs (Near Death Experiences)have led them to witness events outside of their death beds and their witnessing of said outside events have consequently been verified by others. A majority of those who have felt to have experienced (or who have remembered)their travels often tell of interaction with spirit, "beings of light," angels and/or God. This is only anecdotal, but highly convincing to me. There have been many books written about NDEs, by the way, should you have interest.
-
That's a tough one me, I just can't believe that we started from nothing. Go back to the very beginning of life and figure out where they came from. You can't get something from nothing.
-
Well there's no 'absolute' logic to why I believe in God, nor is my belief in God 'logical'. However: I can offer *my* logic (flawed and limited as it is) as to why I believe in God. * Scientific Evidence: Science presents evidence that can point towards the existence of an intelligent designer. There are some big arguments going on out there between scientists about the origins of the universe, matter and information. Scientific study, and the evidence found, leaves open a question of natural origin or intelligent design. Look up a man by the name of Allan Meyer - he does a very good creationist presentation that highlights how the evidence we have does indicate the possibility of intelligent design. * Personal experience: I have seen things in my life, and had personal experiences that cannot be explained scientifically or in the natural realm. It has to be supernatural. I'm talking about physical healings - visible, unfakeable physical healings that were done in the name of Jesus and God. I have not seen any of this happen in any other religion, which is why I have chosen this particular religion. I have seen, and felt the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, and witnessed prophecy and 'words of knowledge' that come from the Holy Spirit. I watched a complete stranger get up on a stage and completely nail 100% accurately one of my best friends - spelling out my friend's situation as if it were his own, and then speaking prophetic words that 100% confirmed things in my friend's life - such as what plans God had for him, and where he needed to fix things up. There's no scientific evidence to prove that this is genuine, but I know what I've seen, and I can tell you quite confidently that I am of sound mind. * Accuracy of the bible: Whether you take it as the word of God or not, it is shown as historically accurate. Many events and locations mentioned in the ancient sections of the bible have been found by archaeologists. Moreso than that, other eyewitness accounts from non-religious sources confirm historical events listed in the bible. Even down to supernatural events: Jericho for example. Down under the layers of cities that were built on top of each other, they found a wall that appeared to have been completely flattened by some natural disaster - an earthquake or something of the like. They dated this wall and discovered that it appeared to have been from around the time period that Israel entered Canaan - and we have the story of the walls of Jericho coming down for Joshua... * The lack of *proof* that something else is fact: There is no indisputable proof that the big bang or Darwin's evolution are fact. We have evidence, but at the same time we have counter-evidence. Same goes with religion: there is no indisputable proof, but there's no disproof either. Until then, God is still a viable choice. Logically, if I've been touched by this God, seen miracles and *experienced* miracles in my own life at the hands of this God, and seen his hand in the lives of others in a very real way, I'd be a fool not to logically consider that maybe he is real. If he is real, then what he says is real, and so I choose to believe what he says - by faith. I don't try to logic my faith, but at the same time I do not just blindly sheep along under religious doltishness - I examine everything I come across. Why? Because man has a great ability to screw things up, so if somebody tells me this is what the bible means when it says 'this', I'm going to check it out to make sure that's exactly what it does mean.
-
you're having "troubling".. you don't need god, you need a spellcheck or a dictionary
-
There is true scientific evidence that the afterlife exist. Look up Near Death Experiences. The research in this field is accurate and proves that we continue on after death. Once again this is fact and has been scientifically proven. Talk with me if you want sources. Now the fact that an afterlife exist doesn't necessarily mean that God exist. It merely means that life continues on. God cannot be proven and this will always be the case. Instead of asking yourself if you believe in God try asking, What is God?
-
Faith is my number one answer but since you're looking for a logical point of view, I'd have to say that scientists still has'nt proved that he does'nt exist and they never will.
-
Actually, I think logic is the ONLY way a "belief in god" happens, because logic depends on causes and effects. It is logic that devised "god" as the initial cause. The REAL "god" (source of creation) is a causeless, beginningless god. That, of course is beyond, beneath, prior to logic. Logic will allow us to believe in (a) god, but not to experience "god" (the beginningless source of all things.) Personally, I have found it important to give up "-ism"s (thought-based conceptual systems, philosophies and religions, and through silence and focused attention know directly. I am much more confident in what I come to know that way than what I reason. After all, the decision to be rational is itself a non-rational decision; all thinking arises from a realm of non-thinking...(yaddayaddayadda...)
-
There is no logical reason to believe in something for which there is no evidence. This applies to a spaceship flying behind a comet that will take you to someplace cool if you kill yourself. This applies to aliens who seem to enjoy anally probing residents of the rural American southwest. This applies to gods. . You are having trouble because your rational mind is doing what it's supposed too - rejecting the irrational. Listen to it.
-
Logic is insignificant in the spiritual world. Logic is man made and man loved. It's only temporal.
-
god =/= logic

Read John 20:19 thru 20:31 This is where people get the saying, "doubting Thomas" Read what Thomas said he needed to see, he was very specific. Then after 8 days Jesus came back and said, "Thomas Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust [it] into my side: and be not faithless, but believing." This is exactly what Thomas asked for. Jhn 20:24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came. Jhn 20:25 The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. Make sure you read all of this 19 - 31 several times. You need to pray many times and ask him to prove himself to you beyond a shadow of doubt, give him time, be patient, and he will show you he is very, very real. Jer 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find [me], when ye shall search for me with all your heart. Jer 29:14 And I will be found of you, Jesus wants to build faith in us by proving beyond a shadow of any doubt that he is real. Faith is not believing in something even though there is no proof, but it is the evidence that gives us our faith. Read this scripture below. Hbr 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. You see, faith is SUBSTANCE, and EVIDENCE, not Blind faith. That is something men have twisted it into. I asked God one time in a prayer... “God are you real, and if you are real, will you help me?" I opened the bible real fast and pointed to ISAIAH 41:13 Wow, that was one of the first things he did for me to show me he was real. There have been dozens of other personal things that has caused me to be solid in my beliefs. Thank God for revealing himself to a lowly sinner like me. Now he is cleaning me up and I love it. Go with God, and be blessed. Your Brother in the Lord.

I am going suggest to you to read Mere Christianity by C.S. Louis. He has incredible logical reasons why he believes in God. Please read it, or at least research it. You will not regret it.
-
Experience. before the experience of God, i did not believe. so logically i would believe in God once i experienced God. But so much more than that. Experience of God is such an incredible experience. Super fantastic... Simply put, God is Energy that can be realized with such an incredible super fantastic experience, that logically one would believe in that experience to be God.
-
Logic need not apply when one has faith. When you come from the perspective of logic I don't believe there is room to argue that God exists. Logic is the use of a rational, critical thinking mind; A mind that needs tangible evidence to understand how something works. How could one ever logically begin to explain the unexplainable, though, such as God? Intuition, on the other hand, lacks logic, as it is based not on fact finding necessarily but, on an innate understanding that we are more than just the sum of our parts. When you consider the incredible and delicate creations which surround us everyday, it's seems easy to believe that some intelligent force, rather than a compilation of cosmic "coincidences" created this amazing place we call home.

PROBLEY BECAUSE THEIR BEING LIED TO BY PREACHERS THAT ONLY HAVE THEIR INTERESTS AT HEART FOR TAX FREE MONEY AND/OR THEIR YOUNG CHILDREN. MOST WONT TELL EVERYONE THE TRUTH. GOD IS A SPIRIT WITHIN EACH PERSON AND WHEN WE BELIEVE IN GOD, WE'RE ACTUALLY BELIEVING IN OURSELVES SO TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOURSELF. NEXT TIME YOU SEE YOUR PREACHER/MINISTER ASK HIM TO SHOW YOU A PICTURE OF GOD, IF HE'S REAL.

research "Anselms Ontological argment for the existance og God." I think it will help you.
-
Do you believe in love? How is that logical? Can you prove it exists? Maybe people are just faking, pretending, saying the words and don't mean any of it! Happy Monday! :)
-
Because the Lord God gave his son so that we who believe can have ever lasting life. Jesus Christ is my savior and my path to eternal life. through him I enter heaven.
-
Check out the phrase, "Fide quarens intellectum."
-
Don't think of God as an old guy up in the clouds. Wrong approach. Think of "it" as the source of creation, apathetic to "good and evil".
-
I call it "the original energy". It's all of everything and everywhere. It is all there is. I don't pray to it but I feel it in me. We are all of this original energy.

I actually read a great article in TIME magazine (in fact, I believe it was the cover story) that said that there may be a "Spiritual Gene" in human beings. In some, it's a dominant trait; in others it's recessive. The article said that that gene may be the reason why some people put such importance on faith and their beliefs, and others not so much. It even went on to say, that different "spiritual genes" may determine the kind of spirituality that suits us best (in biological terms). I'm not saying I think that the article was right or wrong, but it sure was interesting. I believe TIME has put their archives online for free, so feel free to search it out and let me know if I remember it correctly. This is the best way I could explain it logically without having to base anything on my personal beliefs. Hope it helps.

I have had two things happen in my life that are so unbelievable that make me believe. 1) My college roommate was involved with a church group. He had invited me along to a bunch of different events. met some nice people. But then felt like maybe I should learn a little more about religion. So I thought I'd start with a bible. I went to 4 bookstores around town to find a bible and all I could find was the King James version versus the new version. So that same night, I was walking with my girlfriend across campus at midnight or thereabouts. That exact night, along our exact path, was an all night bible reading by the Campus Crusade for Christ. None of my group of friends were involved. Totally different group. Our path was unusual and happened to come across this. They had a stack of the bibles I was looking for. This is all in one day. 2) My mom always wanted a girl, had 3 sons and a grandson. She was diagnosed with terminal cancer expected life would put her until October-ish. We found out we were expecting in February and in April, found out it was a girl. Mom was doing well through the summer. My wife's water broke 8 weeks early, at the end of August. Her due date was October 18th. My mom was able to come to the NICU and see and touch her first granddaughter. My daughter did well in NICU for about 2 weeks. We came home September 6 and went straight to my parents' house. Mom and dad got to see her, hold her, touch her. Two weeks later, mom went into the hospital. 2 weeks later, she died on October 6. My daughter, being 8 weeks premmie is perfectly healthy and was well enough to come home in just 11 days so my mom could hold the girl she always wanted.

God is beyond logic & mere human understanding. Look around or even at our human bodies. For example, the complex design of our ears cannot have been made from randomness. Also, Christian faith isnt blind faith. There is historical & unbiased evidence that Jesus existed.
-
see all religions bottom life is be good and positive and dont harm others. so many lay people dont listen to these words. to make them listen they created god who will punish if they dont obey the good
-
“God” and logic does not mix. Logic uncovers all the misleading layers of bs put together by irrationality.

I'm going to do something that I very rarely do and that is to post a site with a short video. This man, in my opinion, logically explains, in a very short time, why there is a God. It may be convincing or it may not be convincing. That part is up to you. Here is the site--------http://www.leestrobel.com/videoserver/video.php?clip=strobelT1209

I agree with everything Shabba wrote as evidence. It all depends on the openness of the seeker and you can't persuade someone to seek via compelling external evidence. I know a way that verges on logic. Des Cartes: Cognito Ergo Sum. Many think it means "I am cognizant therefor I am", but I don't think that's what he meant. Not profound enough for THE most profound realization life can have (IMHO). I think it means more like "what gives my being Truth, is its knower regardless of what is known." If anyone ever asks you to show them an absolute truth, that's the only one I think is possible. The source of your being. It doesn't need a brain to digest the world for it in order to "know" that it is. It's timeless space-less and indestructible. Can ONLY be 'proven' BY itself. Another premise is identical (I think). Christ "I am that I am" I think it implies that there is no cause/effect relationship to Truth. To being. "I simply am". This IS the source of all things perceivable. All logic and reason depend on this knower, and never the reverse. Christ: "In the world AND not of the world" is where the logic must lie. The interface between this physical brain and the singularity of Truth, not in this world. Both together are "life". To me, other than those statements, Christ had to resort to parables and metaphors to describe something that can't be described. That's why guys like "Anon y mouse" freak out over God. I suspect they disconnected from Truth and are nothing but a robotic brain, convinced it's still living, trying to put the inexplicable in robotic terms. That's also why they accuse "fear and ignorance" when the terms describe themselves. Theyre obsessed with God and the antithesis to God. Dead Chaff separated from eternally living seed. Zombies. :) Sorry, but I have no more grief for them than I do a broken PC headed for the scrap bin. Save the grace of God, theres nothing you can do for them. Nuff rant. ZERO logic. Sorry!

Good question. Think of a big, vast, complex, interconnected, interdependent system like the Internet. Ask yourself if it is possible that the Internet could have come about without any engineers, computers, mathematics, telecommunications lines, electricity, radio frequency communications, nothing. How likely is it that the Internet would spontaneously get created and organized on its own? It's millions of times less likely that the universe would have been come about without an intelligent creator. Then, note that the law that enables the Internet to work, electrodynamics, was created in less than a trillionth of a second without the benefit of any earlier laws to build on or use. This would be like building a house with no materials, tools, light, or blueprint. How likely is it that a house would come out of that?

I don't blame you. I think the man-made additions have made the entire affair worse. I find it helps to remove man-made additions of what God is, in order to form an understanding. This includes the bible as well as other sacred texts. What's left over is what you have. This may be something or nothing. At this point in human evolution we may not be able to understand the concept just as the ancients believed the Earth was the center of the universe and that you'd sail off the edge of the Earth because it is flat.

You don't want to go to HELL, do you?!?!?!?!

I cannot tell you logically why I believe in God, but I can relate my experience of God to you. What I recommend is you check out near death experiences. Honestly I don't know if there is a logical point of view when it comes to God. I know Quantum Physics is trying to explain God scientifically. My experience: So I went to meditate and said to this world, to the universe that I love it. I love all who are in it. I love the innocent spirit that resides in all people, animals, vegetables and minerals. I wish to give my unconditional love to this world and universe. And then the most unbelievable thing happened to me. I connected with the Spirit, the Creator, the Energy that binds the universe. My spirit left my physical body to become one with the Spirit. I was wrapped in unconditional love, peace, bliss and ecstasy. I felt the knowledge of everything, I felt connected to everything that ever existed, did exist and would exist. I never, ever wanted to leave that feeling of pure bliss. I thought I could never love anything more then my husband, but I was wrong, this was the spirit of all things and through it all was the Creator’s energy, that energy was unconditional love. I felt as if the whole universe was pouring love into me, it was the be all and end all of the universe. I knew I had to return to my body but I didn’t want to go. I was at complete peace and wrapped in perfect love. When I returned, my body shook and was covered in sweat. I cried tears of joy so profound I could not stop. I believe! We are all one with the Great Spirit; our soul is this Great Spirit of Love. We are only separated from it by this physical world we use to create in. I know now that anyone can reconnect to this Primal loving energy by giving what we truly are in spirit, Unconditional Love.

We don't believe in God from a logical point of view. Faith is belief in that which cannot be proven.

Many atheists and atheistic scientists believe that the universe is static and and eternal. Unfortunately the Cosmological argument and General Relativity say different. Beyond the scientific evidence that shows the universe began, there is a philosophical reason to believe that the world had a starting point. This argument shows that time cannot go back into the past forever. It is impossible to pass through an infinite series of moments. It is like moving your finger across an endless number of books in a library. You would never get to the last book. Even if you thought you had found the last book, there could always be one more added, then another. You can never finish an infinite series of real things. The same goes toward “the beginning of time.” Infinite regress is impossible because there is always one more book on the shelf. So, time must have begun at a particular point in the past, and today has come at a definite time since then. Therefore, the world is a finite event after all and it needs a cause for its beginning. Finite, changing things exist. For example, me. I would have to exist to deny that I exist; so either way, I must really exist. Every finite, changing thing must be caused by something else. If it is limited and it changes, then it cannot be something that exists independently. If it existed independently, or necessarily, then it would have always existed without any kind of change. There cannot be an infinite regress of these causes. In other words, you can’t go on explaining how this finite thing causes this finite thing, which causes this other finite thing, and on and on, because that really just puts off the explanation indefinitely. Therefore, there must be a first uncaused cause of every finite, changing thing that exists. Since the universe very plainly had a beginning, it must have been caused or started by something uncaused, which is God. But why do people reject God so strongly? I believe that if we recognize the existence of God, it means that we are accountable to something higher than ourselves. This is not acceptable to anyone who bows to no One. When the subject of the existence of God is approached in an unbiased way, with an open mind and reasoning and logic, it makes a whole lot more sense than the idea that the universe either always existed or it started from a "Singularity" that always existed. No matter how you look at it, logically this singularity had to have had a beginning. What is this beginning? What was the cause of this beginning? What makes the most logical sense, the existence of a Creator who brought this universe into existence or a "singularity" that was always there and suddenly energized itself to cause the Big Bang hence after billions of years, formed into what we now see in the universe. If you take the time to investigate Cosmology and the findings of the scientists in that field, you may be amazed at all of the evidence that points to a Creator. Even Albert Einstein had to concede a Creator much to his dismay. Just my take on it. As I have said before in AB, I'm no scientist but a little reasoning, logic, and common-sense go's a long ways in dispelling a lot of misconceptions about this universe and it's beginning. It also helps to clear away the mist surrounding Creator God. At least it did for me.

I believe in God because I believe that God is everything, in nature , conscience, Highest deepest, physical and spiritual. Not as a man!
