  • If you're going into porn or comedy, then a bad childhood will serve you well. If you're going into business, then a good childhood will serve you well.
  • My definition of success is when you're able to get up in the morning and go to bed at night and between, you do what you want to do. I dont think childhood really comes into that. I suppose it could do, but it doesnt have to.
  • Seems like someone with an unhappy childhood might work harder to achieve or overcome what they lacked as a child. Their motivation to succeed would be stronger.
  • what kind of question is this????????????/ GOOD DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
  • Gee, this question sounds inspired. LOL I think people make their own success in spite of hardship not necessarily because of it. However, people who never have to struggle or over come things when they are young, rarely have what it takes to do so when they are older.
  • I think ones childhood can have some effect on how you turn out and how successful you turn out to be or not BUT...I think that its got more to do with the individual than anything else , I have know people who where born with a silver spoon stuck up their arse ..had every thing and great parents and turned out complete and total wastes of space and I have known people who were treat like shit by their parents and had nothing ...but turned out great and are very successful on all levels ...:)
  • I think they tend to be more successful when they have a good childhood.
  • Some people are motivated by their own struggles to aim for something higher and brighter than anything they've ever personally known (such as Oprah or Vince McMahon) but some are brought up in a loving home and go on go far in their chosen professions. It really depends on the person and their own unique goals.
  • There are many people who are adept at making delicious lemonade out of lemons..there are also many people who can destroy themselves with drug use blaming others for their troubles. My guess would be that it would be easier to be successful when you don't have to dodge bullets or hide from a parent who is in a drunken/drugged rage when you're young..but many such kids have grown into compassionate, successful adults..conversely, some who have had seemingly idyllic lives have ended up very badly. I guess it's a combination of luck , determination, honesty and the value system one believes/follows in life! :)
  • Coming from a good childhood, you would obviously have more opportunities. (Usually) But that said...there have been numorous great men and women that have come from terrible back rounds.
  • i would say good childhood. i really don't have a reason. It just seems like they would
  • I have never seen the link either way. A whole family of abused children for example, will go much different directions at times and I have seen the same true in people that had a good childhood. Depends on the person I think. Some people are survivors and some are victims. And I realize theres a grey area in there also.
  • I think many successful people had a bitter childhood. Take for example Bill Gates.
  • I know some folks who had wonderful childhoods who ended up being not so wonderful people. Some who had painful childhoods turned out to be great people. You can't blame your destiny on your parents.
  • my belief is that a child that knows their boundaries from an early age will tend to achieve more as they learn the value of things sooner than those that are forced to fend for themselves. that doesn't mean they will go further but it sure gives them a step up on the competition. on the other hand, a determined child regardless of good or bad upbringing is a force to be reckoned with
  • I think your childhood has one of the largest effects on how you grow up and whether or not you succeed. Contrary to other opinions, however, I believe that in some cases, a bad childhood may actually help success. Facing emotional and endurance challenges when you are young will prepare you to face them and more easily conquer them when you are older. Take for example Oprah. She was raped as a child, yet that experience and others inspired her to help others... and she's a millionaire today.
