Do you turn the TV or radio on when you first get home or when you are home alone simply because you don't like the silence?

No. I have two excited dogs who accost me with their songs of glee when I enter the house. There is no silence whatsoever! :)

Not for that reason, but because I am usually information starved and need to catch up with the news.

No, i do appreciate the silence. And most of the time the reason i turn on the tv is either to watch the weather or to make it look like there are multiple people in the house. NO ROBBERS hehehe

Yes, we tend to have the TV on so that we can hear something and not have so much silence.

It's more of a habit than anything else.
