  • I personally would opt for something in the 650cfm range. Stay away from the standard "Holley doublepumper" too much carb for a driver. It also depends on the intake manifold you are using. Manifolds that work best at lower rpm ranges can use a little less carb. A Performer RPM, will produce more power in high ranges, but require a little more carb than a Performer or Victor Jr. would. (I use Edelbrock as an example out of personal preference). My personal ride is a 1940 Lasalle sedan with a 302 Ford small block, Edelbrock Performer manifold and 550 cfm Edelbrock carb. This car weighs in at about 3500 pounds, and I can rip off a long burnout anytime I want one!
