I've never really heard people say life on other planets doesn't exist. I hear in the media and from people who say "there is life" or they "hope there is life" Maybe what you read and hear is a tad biased!

Some people refuse to believe life exists anywhere else because "God made the earth and humans", but it doesn't say "God also made Planet Whatever and the Race that inhabits it elsewhere". So that's one reason for some extremist religious nuts to go against life elsewhere. Personally, i say there's life elsewhere - think of how many stars you see in the night sky, and that's only a fraction of them. Now, of all of those stars consider the fact that 1/20 could have a planet CAPABLE of supporting life (right elemental building blocks). Take 1/20 of those possible planets and assume that the same sort of genetic goo that formed our original earth life-forms exists there, THAT'S LIFE. If i remember correctly, there's evidence of water-based life-forms that lived on Mars thousands (or millions) of years ago. Technically, life existed on another planet in OUR solar system. The odds of THAT are pretty astronomical if you use the 1/20 measurement i ued above. The key difference here that people tend to overlook is that "a lifeform can exist elsewhere, but it doesn't mean it's intelligent or able to communicate with us". Have you ever considered that WE caused controversy somewhere else by launching stuff into space that crash landed on some alien world and their society is going into red-alert preparing for an invasion?

ufo's, cover-ups, and supposed alien sightings have no relevance on whether life on other planets exists.. ufo's are simply unidentified flying objects (which could be ANYTHING including meteors, weather balloons, classified weapons testing, etc..), cover-ups don't prove or disprove anything except that a cover-up has occured, and I've never seen conclusive proof of alien life... but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist... the stars are plenty and we haven't even been outside our own solar system...

Because people need proof positive to believe anything, except when it comes to what their government or the main stream media says. Then they buy it hook, line and sinker. After all, if it was on t.v., it must be true, right? The idiot box is aptly named, in my opinion. It creates idiots. Especially fox news! Bill O'Reilly actually said that the people have a duty to 'shut up!' and to 'shut up publicly!' We have a duty to shut up publicly??? wtf??? The controlled media represent the controlled government who are the puppets for the only thing that is real. The evil illuminati who are also known as the shadow government. They have an agenda to bring about The New World Order, or globalization, and they are running out of time. Hence, the flurry of natural disasters, fall of the economy, record number of ufo sightings in the past year, etc. Things are coming to an end folks. Time to say your prayers, and hope that the andromedans are really going to save us, like Alex Collier, a contactee, says.

I think there is almost certianly life on other planets somewhere but seriously doubt aliens are or have visited Earth. The evidence is too sketchy and the claims of cover up do not convince me. The UK government for instance cannot even keep track of their data storage media let alone be part of a massive conspiracy to keep aliens secret. As for the reports etc, not to call anyone a liar I am sure the people believe they are telling the truth but there were reports in days gone by of absuction by witches etc and I don't believe that either. I would need much stronger evidence to believe. It is not a case of "I want to believe" so much as "I want to be convinced through irrefutable evidence" which I cannot see. However as I said I am pretty confident there would be life elsewhere simply because of the scale of the universe and having Earth as the only planet with life, to quote Contact, seems an awful waste of space as well as being somewhat geocentric.

Because UFO's only visit Texas and other southern states and, well.. you can't really trust their credibility. I personally believe there is life, but they're not intelligent species like us (not to be arrogant or anything, i think we're pretty stupid anyways) so they have yet to visit us.

It reminds me of those ROD documentaries, where one scientist suggests that they are an undiscovered form of INSECT. Uh, the government, if this is a cover up, must think we're stupid. Judging by the shape of those things caught on camera, they do not look like insects, as all insects are made of three different parts, plus six legs, and sometimes wings. Any scientist worth his salt would know that, do they figure the public isn't informed or what? I was so insulted when I heard that-if those RODs exist, they are single pieced, certainly not insects, or ''bugs'' as he called them. Also, 15 foot long insects would crumble under their own weight. Also, they say you can't see them with the naked eye, and the only records that show that these things exist were all caught on camera. Then they go on to say later in the documentary that caveman had drawings of those things on their walls. Wait what? Either they evolved along with us, or caveman had cameras. I don't dismiss the existence of these things, but sometimes it's hard not to with all the near fantasy like stuff they tell us. Either way, I'm totally not sure what the government is doing with all this, or trying to do...I always thought these were for entertainment, and they make it look like a secret to appease the public-we get concerned with this, while they concentrate on something else, like world crisis. It makes sense when you think about it-even when you watch the news, I'm sure it's not always exactly how they say it is, we have to believe that there is some form of control or another, people need security, and the media is in charge of this. Aliens could be a small part of this. As for extraterestial sightings, faked or not, there have been researches done, and it would appear that different parts of the world see different types of aliens, and these ''sightings'' pertain to cultural traits and psychological process much similar to ghost sightings, and are believed to be in the same family as the belief in demons, vampires and spirits from centuries ago. (Which are all false, or at least, are linked to psychological functions which we know a lot more about today, and not to actual vampires and spooks, whatever those are.) The behaviours are the same as they were centuries ago, but the different cultural approaches on such universal things make it different, not to mention the changing years, and the technology which rearranges the face of everything...still, none of that explains airship and rocket man drawings from older times, which I do believe exist...as is quite common of the media, perhaps a grain of truth is turned into a horribly mutated fiction, barely resembling its origin. So I don't really buy all the crap I hear, whether the outrageous material is intentional or they don't know better; or both, but I certainly do believe that there is intelligent life forms elsewhere. Who knows, maybe they're not as evolved as us, or still way too far to be able to get here if they are more advanced, or maybe we ARE the most advanced things in the universe, and everything else is just bacteria, plants or animals-of some kind. Also, there might have been other life before, or will be later...I don't believe that space adheres much to the concept of time and the nsync value we always attribute to it. :/ It's hard to imagine what else there could be, and although I know nothing about space or planets or other outworldly conditions which may, or may not, make for a hospitable environment in which something, or someone could thrive in, I've never dismissed once that we're not alone, and that isn't based on what the media feeds us, by far.

The reason there are so many reports is because Rednecks just can't admit when they're drunk. Kidding! Statistically, there is going to be other life in the universe. However, it is massively improbable that they are visiting us, due to the nigh on incomprehensible distances involved.

Yes the government is holding something from us. 1 that there is a planet call planet x on it's way to us. And 2 the, know this is going to happen sometime in 2012
