I think you should at least try it. You never know you might like it. Also dancing is a great form of exercise.

Some places teach it as an exercise but believe me, just learning it to dance it is terrific exercise and a wonderful skill to have;-) I did bellydancing in the 70s and enjoyed it immensely. My mother and I took the class together:-)

I would say go for it. It sounds like something that could be lots of fun.

It is strictly a woman thing. There are professional "belly dancers" and they perform for audiences, usually in very small gatherings. It is a Mid-Eastern thing. Very erotic, but highly respected. I would think it would be great exercise! Almost every joint and muscle appear to be in play...

it's a great form of exercise as so many have mentioned, but it also can provide you with self confidence and a renewed sense of sexuality. I say go for it.

Do it for sure! Got me back in shape after each of my babies and it was the gift that kept on giving when I got home ;>]!! You can always stop if you don't like it, but I think you will have fun.

Its like an aerobic class except your learning to belly dance.

ROCK ON! with your bad belly dancing self! HECK YEAH! you should belly dance. And then you should send me a vid. (In the Pocahontas braids, please). It actually is good exercise, and it strengthens your core. It's supposed to be good for all kind of lower back pain, toning, and even self esteem.
