About 1969 or so, did you have the toy where you heated up the cast-aluminum molds, poured in the goop, burned yourself, let it cool, and you had a wiggly plasticy spider? I could swear they were edible – does anyone else remember that?

OMG, yes I remember it. My older brother had one, and he wouldn't let me touch it. I really liked the way it smelled when it was hot! They weren't edible, though.

Yes, we had one. I don't know why the stuff was considered "edible," though. It tasted like strawberry (or whichever flavor you chose) flavored rubber. ewg! You could also buy the goop that just made inedible rubber toys. We got bored with it after awhile, though. And tired of burning our fingers.

My brother got one for Christmas, and there was edible or no-edible goop. Well, if you liked the taste of fruit-flavored rubber. Wer all got bored with it after awhile, though, and tired of burning our fingers.

yes yes I didn't have one but I remember seeing the commercial. That was before you could sue a toy company cuz your kid got hurt on their toy. Didn't it make all sorts of crawly things. I don't think you were supposed to eat them tho.....

No, not in 1969. I think that there is toys like that today. You just pour this mixture in and you can eat it after you make it. I remember first seeing it in 2003.
