There were magicians in the Bible that could perform feats similar to the feats of prophets, but not as good of course. I don't know how they did it. But as far as what we call magic today, I don't believe in it, or think it exists. I certainly think there are some talented illusionists though! But I don't think the mindfreak fella (or any other magician) is possessed by Satan... they just know how to make a dollar, and how to entertain!

A long, long time ago people (not just Christians but other, really smart people too) were much more gullible to "tricks" and most likely did not realize that magicians were creating illusions and performing sleight of hand. Nowadays, even us poor, dumb Christians know that magic is just harmless tricks. These days the bible would warn us to be wary of scam artists. Instead of magicians we call them con-men and scam artists.

In general, they believe it is evil and condemned by Yahweh. There are several passages in the Old Testament to this effect, as they bar witchcraft, sorcery, and those who have "familiar spirits". Many modern Christians disbelieve in magic altogether, others believe it is the work of the devil.
