yes, we need to solve our problems before other peoples. Otherwise our country will get worse. (Im British)Only when our own country is sorted will we have the power to help other countries properly

YES! We have so many people here in our own country who are poor, homeless, jobless, barely scraping by, yet we spend and spend and spend to help people in foreign countries, and we aren't helping in many cases, or at least we're doing very little. Especially in our own country where we're spending such an outrageous amount of money on the war in Iraq to "help enforce democracy" and while that's all well and good for them (debatably) our country is broke, our citizens are broke, our school systems are broke so we're not only monetarily broke, we're also mentally poor. And...I'm going to stop ranting The short answer is yes, yes we should worry about ourselves first.

Oh yes, I am on ssi and sometimes live on $400 a month. I can't ever just survive from month to month. I eat rice and beans for a week before the 1st.

No,because the poverty in third word countries makes poverty in my country look like they are well off.People in third world countries are dying of thirst and starving,have no protection from the elements and have little help if it wasn't for the scarce help they get from wealthy nations.
