I would say not getting sidetracked, and just focusing and putting all your effort on your objective!

Stop talkin' and start droppin' hammer.

I believe just doing them gets things done.

G'day Anonymous, Thank you for your question. Staying off Answerbag helps. Regards

Not thinking about them too much and just getting stuck in there. If you need perfect conditions to begin, you will never get started. Often momentum will build if you just push things off-kilter a little. So with me, if the house is horrible (for instance) I will elect to paint a wall a new color. The hellish mess this creates makes me want to finish and clear up. So this applies to any situation. Take the leap. Go ahead and be uncomfortable and then find your groove. You'll feel amazing when it's done.

Not waiting for someone else to do it.

If you can afford it hire someone to do it. Like painting the interior of your home...if you don't have the time or inclination hire someone.
-
a personal assistant would be nice

For me I have to not let myself think about it. Just the second you realize it needs done and your not doing anything, get up and do it. If you sit around thinking about how it needs to get done it also leaves you time to think about ways you can avoid it or how it can wait until later. Don't give yourself time, just up and at 'em!

Having someone else do it, LOL
-
Building motivation to do whatever it is that needs to be done.

I'm actually the last one that should be answering this question, but when I DO get things done, I usually make a written list and cross things off.
