Help answer this question below.
I believe that it is a site run by trolls and 12year olds...yes. They need human intervention (and maybe a little divine, as well) to help them out.
customer service at Yahoo answers is an oxymoron.
I agree 110%.
They are limited as far as I remember. You can't comment or anything. You can only ask questions and answer questions. That's pretty lame. And, they are very strict as far as what you can ask and answer with. I was banned from there a long time ago. I never stood a chance really.
Yes, but I also believe the site serves it's purpose.
If I have a question that is obscure, it's almost always answer on YA.
Y/A is a complete joke. I've yet to have my account actually suspended, but I was the target of trolls/clones all of the time there. I got false abuse reports and violation notices all of the time. why? because Y/A doesn't care. Someone decides they don't like you (a troll) for whatever reason...your politics, your sexual orientation, your cultural background, your race or religion, and they attack and abuse you in the forums and send false reports and try (and sometimes succeed) and getting so many innocent people suspended. There is no such thing as customer service on that site. And, I like AB so much more anyway....not just because there is actual customer service. Questions can stay open instead of requiring being "resolved." You can comment and post pictures and videos here. In Y/A, you can only ask/answer a question. And you same the same juvenile crap all of the time. It's a trolls paradise there.
I prefer our site than the yahoo answer site.
The customer service there is NOT awful, okay? It's non-existent. I complained several times and I never received any reply (aside from the system-generated replies that don't answer my questions).
I left it because I was punished with Error 999 for no apparent reason.
I don't know anything about YA except what Baggers have said. I found AB before I heard of YA. Never had any inclination to check out YA.
I'm pretty sure also that there is also a limited time to answer which seems silly. Maybe the original asker of the question doesn't need an answer anymore, but some questions are helpful just to share knowledge and having to start all over again for newer answers seem ridiculous. Once they "resolve" a question to get more information the question has to be started all over again. I'm sure that not every question is personal "vital" question that is solved by maybe 10 answers, of which the favorite one is voted on and becomes the "official" answer with other answers listed below.
No I do not agree.
I wouldn't know. I've never tried it...:-D...
I agree. I am almost ashamed to admit that I would frequent YA before I found AB. I am so glad I did find this site where the people are fun, you can ask silly questions and even chat. At YA "chatting" is against the rules and I received a violation email for asking a question on there that was considered "chatting"
They are extremely corrupt. The problem I believe is they dont approve several subjects that do not match their opinion, or the big babies who come on and complain agianst anything they dont agree with. But yes, you are correct. I personally dont think they spend anytime trying to improve the site, probably searching for "Violations", and deleting stuff they dont like, or the "YA pets" dont like. They are going to fail, and really messed up. Plus, whats also bad, is people on this website are extremely rude, judgmental, critical, close minded and uneducated. The trash they post on this website have turned away all the good people who used to actually do good for the site.
Well, I don't really think its disorganized, but I do think its unfair. And a lot of people get away with a lot of crude behavior. I received violations when I had just annoyed someone, not really done anything wrong. I got sick of it. Oh..and the trolls are crazy-all-over-the place! My husband answers on football all the time and he gets suggestive comments from females all the time.
Yahoo! Answers is infested and run by millions of drunken lemurs who have all the time to make corrupted decisions against innocent users and none of the talent to serve them better. The talented people on Answerbag need not waste their time with Yahoo! Answers.
You are SO Not kidding. I've lost a Level 7 account there before and I'd be the number one answered in the Rock & Pop Section right now if it wasn't for yahoo lackadaisical failing to keep the damn Trolls in check.
I have used both & the people at Ab have it together compared to yahoo. Yes, we meet some that are a little rude or take away points but we all try to live by a certain code here in my opinion. We all try to agree to disagree. I like this site so much more & just because people don't always find my answers or questions wonderful at least i know their honest.
How similar to Yahoo Answers is this site? What are the differences?
I have been on U.A. for years, but this is my first visit here.

You're reading Do you agree that Yahoo! Answers is a disorganized site, with awful customer service, being so limited to everything, deleting questions and banning users for no reason, and that the site is fully corrupt and a place for trolls?
Comments
Yes, and it's so strict on 'chatting' and shit, and deleting questions with photos and videos.

ha.ha.ha...+2 for divine thing.I enjoyed it.
by nimmi on February 9th, 2008
I blocked a lot of idiots on there.
by Yahoo Answers Is A Fraud on February 9th, 2008
I believe I am still listed on there..I was one of their top contributors level 7 about 67000+ points and one day they said my account was suspended because of too many violations!!! I had never recieved any violations. Anyway they refused to listen to me...I asked to speak to a supervisor 32 times and was duly ignored each time...other people on the site went to their appeal forum and wrote notes in my support. Their notes were always deleted the next morning...I telephoned them and they said there was nothing that they could do. I believe that in the GLBT section a lot of really nice

members put 'for Da ben dan' after their names in support of me...but there were some really awful comments by trolls as well...I think you can probably search for da ben dan on yahoo answers and get results...I haven't been there for months and have no intention of ever going back:)
by DA BEN DAN yanggui zi on February 9th, 2008
Man, fuck Yahoo! Answers. I told the customer service to go fuck theirselves, not like they'll respond back.
by Yahoo Answers Is A Fraud on February 9th, 2008
Trust me, they will not. I do not know if you saw my answer before I put the link to my myspace in it but here is the myspace I devoted to Yahell:

.
... the blog at the very bottom has the full story. (Oh that was for Agtax, I think Dbd knows my story)
by Arisztid on February 10th, 2008
Yea, you're telling Y!A to get you right?
by Yahoo Answers Is A Fraud on February 10th, 2008
I have seen similar stories by AB users about their problems with AB management as well. You have had good experiences here, and not there, but the problems here are not zero.
by Yarnlady is happy every day on February 10th, 2008
No, there are problems here too, just less than Yahoo. If it gets like that here, I am gone from here as well.
.
If Yahoo Answers nukes my account they are STILL going to be flooded with some very angry Rromani and I am going to put out the call to my Yahoo friends. They can, and most certainly will, ignore all of us, however, it would be easier for them just to leave me be. I have all of my answers saved anyways. :)
by Arisztid on February 10th, 2008
Which is why my answer to this question is What's the point?
by Yarnlady is happy every day on February 10th, 2008
Your question is not being helpful! It annoys me when people leave those type of answers on my questions.
by Yahoo Answers Is A Fraud on February 10th, 2008
I can handle the points down trolls and comment thread trolls (I have a link in my profile on how to get rid of those). I will take those ANY day over the clones. You would not believe the filth that was posted in "my" name. My troll even posted "questions" where he stated plainly that he was going to bust me down to level one.
.
Yahoo ignored me.
by Arisztid on February 10th, 2008
the thing is that Y1answers is a business and has the right to refuse service to anyone. it says in the ROS they can remove anything you post. you have the right to not go there and they have the right to not let you. there are many problems with AB that are annoying also, like people who are "friends" of someone giving points to them because they like them even tho its a really bad question/answer or the opposite marking a great answer down because they don't like the person. it turns what should be a helpful sight into social garbage.
by Gamer girl and proud on February 10th, 2008
Screw Y!A! That site is little kids and trolls territory.
by Yahoo Answers Is A Fraud on February 10th, 2008
TOS not ROS.
.
Anyone who does not like Y!A OR AB can leave.
.
If you find, Gamer girl, that you are being downrated by someone repeatedly and unjustly, you CAN report them to AB. AB will not tell you who did it but they WILL deal with the person.
.
I know because I have done it.
by Arisztid on February 10th, 2008
Regarding giving points... who cares?
.
Also, each member can only points up or points down so many times before AB software shuts off their ability to do so for that week. Personally, I points up if I like a q or a and if I see someone being trolled.
by Arisztid on February 10th, 2008
i meant TOS it was a typo that i saw it to late XD and i have gotten a few mark downs that way i think but mostly i have seen it happen to others, and i dont care about the points XD im only here to help my fellow gamers mostly but i was on Y!A for a bit trolls only bother you if you let them :)
by Gamer girl and proud on February 10th, 2008
Oh ok re typo. Yahoo is ok if you are not a higher level, high BA, and TC member. For some reason they let the trolls take out the higher ranking members. I pretty much had no choice to leave because of the clones. They succeeded in ruining me. I have found a more habitable place. *shrug*
by Arisztid on February 10th, 2008
hmm thats terrible XD I'm glad i don't care about these things.. i mostly answer to relieve stress... I hate drama thats why I quit World of warcraft
by Gamer girl and proud on February 10th, 2008
When drama gets too thick, wherever I am, I leave. :)
by Arisztid on February 10th, 2008
ehheh thats why I'm no longer in wow :P drama would have to have been bad to break that addiction...
by Gamer girl and proud on February 10th, 2008
Yahoo wasn't good to me. I did nothing to deserve my treatment..but I have had to let it go a long time ago. I sympathize with everyone's anger...but anger isn't gonna get anyone anywhere..Yahoo simply doesn't care..and fortunately(or unfortunately), neither do I any longer. It's gone for me. It's over...anyway I'm not being critical of anyone...but I am unsubscribing now :)
