Why is it that on religion questions the answers are always strongly opinionated religious or anti-religious tirades that are usually closed-minded? Are there no religious/atheist people here that aren't uptight about it, or are they too afraid to answer?

well i was brought up roman catholic, but then priests around the world started sleeping with kids and the vatican released silly things about africans not being allowed to use condoms...so i figured i could have a strong faith but not channel it through someone like a priest, i just have a more one to one relationship with God.

If you look at the questions and the people who answer them, it's a very small part of the overall community. I doubt that the people who don't answer are scared or even insecure, they just realize it's a futile argument.
