  • Oh boy, you betcha. Who is the first person suggested for holiday shifts, since they don't have a "family" expecting them? [But I do, my chosen family.] Who once got passed over for a promotion, because the other candidate had a family to support? Who is presumed to not be busy weekends, therefore available to get extra work done? Fortunately, I am a good enough communicator to correct these misconceptions immediately. :o)
  • Oh yeah! Around here, women are baby-making machines. And I get discriminated more on my childless-by-choice life than the fact that I have Asperger's Syndrome. I guess people are trying to be politically correct. But I think women breeding all the time is just pathetic. Recently, my sister asked me, "Remember the girl who had seven children by the time she was--?" (I interrupted, "Yeah, 21." Isn't that sad?) Around here, the average children per household is 4. National-wide, it's 2.3. Women like me are making it even out this way. I always have to use my disabilities as reason to not have children. Lately, I've been sticking more to my scoliosis and thyroid problems. I only bring up my AS if necessary.
