  • It's sacred, it involves making promises, and we do baptisms for the dead by proxy. I think those are pretty standard public-ready answers.
  • Exodus chapters 28 - 29 minus animal sacrifices. Hey if temples are so important why don't other Christian faiths have any?
  • First, according to Mormon belief you must be "sealed" (married for all eternity) to one or more persons of the opposite sex in the temple in order to gain access to the most exalted salvation. Having attained that salvation, you can become a god after you die! Sweet deal, right? Unfortunately you can only go to the temple if you are current on your tithing payments, so essentially you can only be saved if you are paid in full. Currently there is an "anointing" of the body, washing of the feet, etc. when you enter the temple. You have to put on this white sheet with a hole cut in the top for your head...it's like a poncho...and you wear a loincloth over top of that to represent the Garden of Eden fig leaf. You watch this movie where Adam, Jesus and God design the divine plan for Earth, and they decide that Adam will be the first human, Jesus will be the savior, and God will be in charge. It used to be a play, not a movie, and the temple attendees would have to join in. Also they used to anoint your...ahem..."naughty parts" until 1991. The church got a lot of complaints and they don't do that anymore. Also they used to swear an oath to avenge the blood of Joseph Smith, against the nation who killed him (America). There was a senate committee investigating the Mormon Church for treason over this oath, and so they stopped swearing this oath some time in the late 1800's. Another thing that I don't think they do anymore is the figurative "throat-slashing, belly slitting." Apparently, it used to be that you ran your finger across your neck and down your belly as part of the ceremony to represent what would happen to you if you talked about the temple ceremony outside of the temple. Also, the Church researches genealogy, and has one of, if not THE, largest genealogical databases in the world. http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/FHL/frameset_library.asp Everyone who can be proved to have existed is in their records, usually with complete family trees, and even some fictional people, and some temple ceremonies go about "baptizing the dead," so that they can be saved, too. The Mormon Church has been in repeated trouble from the 1980's to the present with Jewish leaders because the temples refuse to stop baptizing holocaust victims. I know much of this sounds made up...I assure you, it is not, and these certainly are not the most bizarre practices and beliefs.
  • I heard that when you are married in the temple you then have to have sex in front of a bishop or someone while they watch so the can bless you... is this true?
  • coming from a Mormon community I can defiantly tell you that when you are married and sealed in the temple you are to get undressed and anoint one another with oil. By anointing I mean you undress and rub oil on one another. This is done one at a time to husband and wife, from the neck down. When you are sealed in the temple you have to be worthy. Worthy means that a certain person can deem you worthy. You could have premarital sex six months before but repent your sins and truly be sorry and ta-da you are worthy. I have in fact seen this happen first hand. They say you usually have to be worthy for a year but I know that someone can deem you worthy with less. Mormons have strong family value and thats about it. A lot of people will not admit about the oil/temple thing because it is sacred and sounds crazy to the outside religions but it's true.
  • First thing is, they ask for your Temple Recommend, which is like your privileged member card. You can't go in without a Recommend. You can only get one if you are a full tithe payer, which means you give at least 10% of your income to their church, so they have to make sure your membership dues are paid. Heaven ain't free, people. You think the streets pave themselves with Gold. You gotta pay up, for Christ's sake.
  • Wilbur...Before you loved your wife, did you ever love, or did you ever THINK you loved someone else, only to discover later that an even more spectacular love was possible with your wife? Yeah, most people experience that. They THINK they are in love, and later they find something better and they say, "Oh I wasn't REALLY in love before, not like THIS." That's because the only thing that having a feeling can prove is THAT you are having a feeling and how it feels. It doesn't prove ANYTHING ELSE about the world. It doesn't prove that THIS TIME it REALLY IS true love. It doesn't prove that SHE loves YOU. Emotions can't do that. That's why you need FACTS to discover truth. People whose arms get amputated still FEEL THEM! They need the facts about the arm, not the feelings, to determine if the arm is real. Now, If you see your wife, and you have a warm fuzzy feeling, it is a FACT that you are having it. You said so yourself. But all it means is that you got a warm fuzzy feeling. A psychotic person could experience the same feeling for someone that only exists in their own imagination. It's still a fact that he gets the feeling, but the rest is false false false. Call it love or whatever you want to, it doesn't matter. It is what it is. How would you know if a greater love was possible? Only by experiencing it, as a fact. Oh, by the way, you were wrong to say that you can't PROVE that you have a feeling. your emotional state can be measured with scientific medical machinery, so, yeah, I COULD prove that you were having a strong feeling.
  • I dont wanna know (psyco music plays) JK jk jk jk. I have no idea, but it cannot be any weirder than a scientology temple.....sheesh, I think I started losing money just walking into a scientology temple.
  • A bunch of Freemasonry rituals to worship Joseph Smith. My 2 cents.
  • To say you would be surprised, is putting it lightly.
  • The mormons believe they are abiding by Jewish law by keeping the Temple Ceremonies active. But the only thing that ever happened in the Temples before and during The Christ of the Holey Bible (not the mormon obomination of christ), were animal sacrifices for the forgiveness of sins. How many animals have been sacraficed as of Oct - 29 - 2008 in Moron Temples?

  • Sacred ordinances. Among them: Baptism for the dead, Endowments, Marriage. And that is as much detail as you will get from any reliable source.
  • Authority? Near Death Experience & Spiritual Experiences. Foundational Info prior to talking about the Masonic Temple Rituals: The Original Book of Mormon exposes the corruption of the Leaders who will be judged by the Saints. (D&C 64:38-40:"...liars & hypocrites...they who are not apostles & prophets...and even Bishops will be removed"). The BoM was altered in 1837 w/ 2nd printing (over 3,000 changes) changing the identity of God! The Original BoM restores the "plain and precious truths" as prophesied that the "great and abominable church" would take out! (1 Nephi 13 "These last records...(BoM)shall establish the truth of the first (Bible) and shall make known the plain and precious thngs which have been taken away from them... by the great and abominable church...that the Lamb of God is the Eternal Father, and the Savior of the World..." (Original Book of Mormon) Furthermore, the "Church is under Condemnation" by God D&C 124:47-48 "For instead of blessings...cursings...by all your abominations...", D&C 112:24-26 "...vengeance...have blasphemied against me in the midst of my house saith the Lord" Brigham Young 33rd Degree Mason added the Satanic/Masonic Rituals of elitism with the Masonic Nauvoo Temple which burned to the ground... In 1990, the Satanic Blood Oath (Moses 5:29 Satan teaching Cain to take a blood oath) of loyalty & to keep secrets involved slitting the throat, cutting out the heart, disemboweling the intestines pantomined to "suffer your life to be taken" if secrets were revealed was taken out. However, today it is still "assumed"!!! People were waking up to the Masonic blood oath rituals of consecrating to the church everything (which justifies leaders to steal through Zion's bank wealthy member's assets- true documented court cases/experiences). Of course, women's faces are veiled (not worthy to have faces exposed - much like Muslims), Masonic robes are worn and adjusted from left shoulder to right to symbolize "progression" and elitism over others. Most importantly is the evil of consecrating "all your time, talents, and all that you do possess to the building up of the kingdom of God." This is idolatry as it is not to God who warned us to never swear any oath!!! And yes, as one comment was given they use to swear vengeance upon the U.S. For political purposes those words were taken out years ago. Talking is frowned upon, everyone gets a secret name for the hereafter, you go through the veil "upon the five points of fellowship" (bodies touching), "Pay Lay Ail" with arms up in the air dropping down to sides: some ritualistic prayer probably to Lucifer ~ "sacred"/Satanic/Masonic hand grips are given ~ which Thomas Monson in public shared "Patriarchal Grips or sure sign of the nail" with Bush, Jr.! (see newspaper photo) It is a ceremony which can be found on the internet in its entirety complete with pictures and is NOT of God. Brigham Young argued with William Smith after Joseph Smith's Masonic murder about these Masonic/Satanic blood oath rituals. (JS was repenting from Masonry & Polygamy weeks before his murder: see Michael D. Quin's historical research "Hierarchy of Power")
