Not much really offends me as I am pretty thick skinned, however I do find the use of gay to mean homosexual rather unfortunate. The original meaning had far more merit. For a homosexual to refer to himself as gay while actually being nothing of the sort is rather disingenuous.

What do you think? I think it's as offensive as calling somebody a retard. By the way, I'm neither gay nor a retard.

I am bi and I find it annoying when anyone says it. I also find it annoying when people say "I was gypped", "Jewed down", or any of that lot. I do not like that the words "gay", "gypped" (taken off of "Gypsy"), and "Jew" have come into common and acceptable usage as pejorative terms.

hahahahaha my boss does it all the time. Like with certain things going wrong, to ME he will say "oh this damn thing is being gay" Ill be like "It's gay....why does it have to be gay? why is it gay?" sit there and fuck with his mind a bit. hahahahahahah it's really funny to watch him backpedal. Also I have blackmail material BWAAAAAHAAAAHAAAAAAAAAA

Although it offends a lot of people, It doesn't offend me at all (I'm bi btw). I even say it like if something bad has happened or something that pissed me off happened I'd be like "Oh that's f**king gay!" It's just a term of slang and I could understand if someone got offended by it but at the same time, it's only a word, It's not said to directly offend them and thats my opinion on it :)

Think about it - take any word that describes you and replace it with "stupid" or "dumb" - how does that make you feel? It is an example of how some people continue to demean LGBT folks, and how it has somehow become "acceptable" to do so in general. Yes, I rail against this usage, and others that classify a whole group of people as "stupid." The main thing that people demonstrate with such a usage is their ignorance and/or inconsiderateness.
