Verizon's network uses CDMA technology which does not utilize a sim card. However many of Verizon's "World Edition" phones do have sim card slots so that they can be used overseas with their international partners whose networks are GSM based (those with sim cards :-) as there are not a lot of CDMA networks outside of the US so the rates are steep but the sim card slot allows you to pop in a sim card in say China while on business you could still use your same cell phone. Cool huh?

HELL NO!

No, the manufacturer of the phones make them specifically for the carrier, and since Verizon uses CDML, they don't need sim cards. if it is a particular model you want, you may check the manufactures website and see if they offer it for another carrier. the only carrier in the US that use sim cards are AT&T and T-mobile. however they may make it for an overseas carrier since all oversea carriers use sim cards.
