child support is based on your monthly "gross" income, not net. as far as the amount received, many women don't realize that the main purpose of child support is not to insure the mother gets money, but to help the state pay for TANF (food stamps)any women that collect food stamps will not receive money, the money will be diverted to cover the cost of the food stamps she receives. read up on the Welfare Reform Act of 1996.

I wasn't granted any support! my husband claimed to be unemployed for 15 years... I made to much to receive any type of welfare. so I supported my child all by myself grant it I worked 2 jobs most of the child's life.
