Maybe they're just forum-shopping. I do that too, especially when I really need SERIOUS answers. I use Google, AB and Yahoo Answers.
-
They know. But the whole point of AB is to ask and answer questions. So if you are here you are here to ask questions not say "I already googled it so I don't need anything, thanks"
-
Google doesn't give reword points.
-
some people just like to ask questions. and dont always like to look for the answers. in other words, people are lazy.
-
Because google and wikipedia and the like only give a static answer. If you want more or less detail, opinions, ideas, out-of-the-square thinking and fun, ask real people. Besides, when I type some things into google I often get boobs.
-
Maybe AB is more fun. You have know idea what type of answers you will come up with.
-
I just wish they would write in real english not: "uc i wuz cummin out the store the otr nght..."
-
I've wondered the same thing ... Guess they just like it when someone else does it for them, or maybe they don't have the time to do the research.
-
It's the same as when you ask someone to bring you a beer, yes, you could get it yourself but is so much nicer when someone else does it for you....
-
I believe that some of them know how, but would rather talk to a "live" operator. You know, like on the telephone. Which would you rather talk to, a computerized operator or a live one?
-
Personally because I am a ditz, that is my excuse for being on AB.
-
Google? Never heard of it.
-
The same people who drive 300 miles just till fill up in Tulsa on route 66 at the only full service gas station in the region. It's just easier for them to sit back and let someone else do the dirty work. You should expect a tip when dealing with them. <Tip: Buy low, sell high.>
-
Oh, let's not get me started on this.... :)
-
LOL What is Google?
-
Because we like to have fun too!!!!!!
-
Some enjoy the social interaction of asking them here, some like to try and win more and more points and some have very limited computer skills and don't even know about search engines.
-
Thats is what I always thought. I do and put it down for my answers, LOL!

See the answers here - http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/577722
-
Because there's a direct connection between asking questions and gaining points. You don't really think people honestly care what everyone wears to bed at night, do you?
-
Oh man... maybe it's easier for some people to have other people use google for them. +6
-
I'm sure some do just that - but this website is better than Google any day.
-
Because google don't give them ratings for that...

Dear Dr. Brainstein -- It is obvious, or should be, that ANSWER Bag offers answers. Why NOT come here and get an answer that might be further validated by the commentary added? Google doesn't discriminate and faulty answers can get through and there is no one to ask about it. But, more, why would sites like this even exist if there is also google and it is superior. The question could be returned to you: Why don't people AB the questions they have instead of googling?
-
See the answers here: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=Why+don't+people+google+the+answers+to+their+questions%3F&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=&aqi=

Some people just enjoy hearing opinions or their definition of the word (their own personal not google). There are so many on AB that are point hoarders and ask questions ONLY for the points and not because they care about the answers. I enjoy points too but there is a big difference in asking thousands of inane questions just for points than to expect points for answering questions.
-
Why don't you look that up on Google?
-
Cuz there our own personal preference to what they thought!
-
Because answers here are one on one and are often entertaining.
-
Google and other search engines are good for finding raw information, but unless someone else has asked exactly the same question, many of the questions asked on AB require interpretation of the raw data to create an good answer.
-
Because AB allows the human interaction and entertainment of the variety of answers.
